"Little Uploaders" Shine in the People's City: Yangpu District Holds Season 3 Awards for "Civilization Little Envoys" January 16,2025

To advance the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, promote best practices for Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and the People's City, and further youth moral development in Yangpu District, the Season 3 "Civilization Little Envoys" Special Program People's City "Little Uploaders" Awards Ceremony was jointly held on January 15th at SHANGPLACE. The event was organized under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Civilization Office, the Publicity Department of the District Committee, and other district-level authorities.

This year, 2024, marks the fifth anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to Yangpu Riverside and the articulation of his People's City concept. To elevate Yangpu's profile and showcase its vibrant urban character, this series of themed activities has launched six "People's City · Showcase Belt Yangpu" tour routes. (Model People's City Tour, Digital Economy Innovation Tour, Urban Civilization Fashion Tour, Red Root Heritage Tour, Municipal Industrial Legacy Tour, Beautiful Life Livable Tour). These routes highlight prominent Yangpu landmarks, including the Yangpu Riverside, the District Library, bilibili, and Daxue Road. The "Little Uploaders" recruitment campaign engaged participants who explored the six quality routes, comprehensively demonstrating our district's attractiveness for residents, tourists, and those seeking leisure activities.

At the event, the "2024 Civilization Little Envoys" were awarded their titles. The children, now holding this honorary title, excitedly shared their experiences. "I am very happy to have won the title of 'Civilization Little Envoy.' Yangpu Riverside was my top spot for making my video. Being there, I really felt how much our district has changed and how happy the people are who live here. Next time, I definitely want to come back and discover even more of Yangpu's amazing places!" Qin Chenyue said with a smile", said Qin Chenyue happily.

Following the six "People's City · Showcase Belt Yangpu" quality tour routes, children and parents created short videos showcasing Yangpu's cultural landmarks, experiencing firsthand the beauty, civility, and innovation that define Yangpu. The 'Little Uploaders' and their parents strolled along Qinhuangdao Road Wharf, soaking in the area's historical atmosphere and exploring the district's unique, century-old 'Red Culture' heritage. At the riverside Brush and Ink Palace Workshop, they learned from intangible cultural heritage artisans and tried their hand at traditional crafts such as ink-making. They also explored the digital economy hubs of Meituan, Bilibili, and Jiangwanli MEET678, witnessing the dynamic growth of our district's digital economy.

Parent Ms. Dong said that she felt this kind of activity was very meaningful. "For children's growth, knowledge should not be limited to textbooks. They should go out, personally experience and love the land where they live. I believe that in this process, they can also learn more things that interest them."

It is reported that since the launch of the event, more than a thousand families across the district have submitted entries. After evaluation by relevant district departments, 60 top ten works awards in six major themes and 10 excellent organization awards were finally selected. By nurturing one child, the event empowers the entire family, influences the broader community, and ultimately resonates throughout society, thereby elevating the ideological and moral development of minors in our district to a new level. The event site presented awards to the outstanding top ten works and excellent organizations.

In addition, the event site also set up a "Civilized and Polite New Year" interactive segment. The host randomly selected 6 families to come on stage to participate in the interaction. The children emotionally shared their mental journey and experiences in video creation, and received exquisite bilibili cultural and creative peripheral prizes on site. After the awards ceremony, everyone visited bilibili together, appreciating the culture of the leading internet company, immersively experiencing the surprising and exciting two-dimensional space, and feeling the strong rise of the digital economy in our district, as well as the magnificent transformation from "Industrial Yangpu" to "Digital Yangpu."

Moving forward, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Civilization Office, the District Civilization Office will uphold the banner of 'People's City, Civilization First,' and will focus on creating a brand for the ideological and moral development of minors, while also encouraging more minors to contribute their wisdom and talents to Shanghai's economic and social development. The ultimate goal is to unremittingly strive toward 'jointly building a harmonious and beautiful city, and co-creating a happy and wonderful life' in our district.
