Recently, the 2024 People’s Market event was held along the riverside of Fisherman's Wharf Road. The event, themed around the fifth anniversary of the People’s City, invited multiple booths to jointly reflect on the changes and achievements of the People’s Market over the past five years. This event provided an opportunity to experience the ever-more "YOUNG" People's City and look ahead to the future.

This event followed the direction of the “Five Everyone” and worked towards implementing the concept of "A City Built by the People for the People." It presented a market centered on the people, designed with human considerations.

A special stage area was set up to showcase highlights from the past five years of the People’s Market through a video recap, providing quality booths with a platform to display their offerings. Additionally, a photo wall displayed the changes the market has undergone in recent years.
Everyone Can Participate in Governance
At the “People’s Market · Imagining the Future” message board, citizens shared their thoughts, suggestions, and expectations for the market’s future. Based on this feedback, future activities for the People’s Market will be planned and organized, focusing on addressing areas for improvement and enhancing measures to meet the residents’ needs and expectations.
The market looks beautiful this year. I hope the scale will be expanded next year.

This area included various booths, such as one from XiuDai Coffee and Creative Culture, which offered new products showcasing Puxi's unique cultural items. FreedomMa Studio’s 3D-printed toys allowed residents to experience the fun of technology firsthand.
Every handcrafted crochet bag and pendant displayed at the "Everything Can Be DIY" booth exudes a sense of charm and delicacy of the woven creations.
The handmade experience area here is a great place to relax, offering young people an opportunity to connect and interact. Visitors can choose an interesting DIY project from nearby stalls, and with the traditional musical melodies from the stage area, it feels like stepping into the poetry and distant lands once longed for, enhancing the quality of life for residents participating in the market.
Everyone Can Feel the Warmth
As you stroll through the market, you’ll reach the public welfare booth section, where several vendors focused on medical, convenience, and health consultations, contributing to creating an open, beautiful, and warm city environment. The booth from District East Hospital invited doctors from various departments to offer services such as oral health consultations and general surgery health advice, answering residents' medical queries.
At the booth of the Yangpu District Community Sports and Health Coach Program, residents received physical fitness assessments, demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding their health and fitness through practical actions. The Kongjiang Community Health Service Center offered convenient services like blood pressure and blood sugar tests.
Everyone Can Have a Sense of Belonging and Identity
Among the booths, those featuring traditional cultural elements stood out. The booth from the Silk Bamboo Sound and Traditional Culture Inheritance Base presented exquisite cultural items, allowing each resident who stopped by to find familiar scenes and memories.
The Su Embroidery booth from Moji Studio captivated visitors with its intricate craftsmanship. The booth from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Lacquer Fan Studio showcased mesmerizing colors and delicate patterns, demonstrating the charm of this heritage.
By displaying various representative intangible cultural heritage items and ethnic handmade crafts, residents were able to experience the charm of Chinese traditional culture, contributing to better cultural transmission and enhancing the sense of belonging and identity with the city. This effort further cultivated a harmonious and warm urban environment.
