The new practice of People's City and Yangpu Talent Show not only delivers a combination of "attracting, cultivating, employing, and retaining" talents, providing fertile soil for talent growth but also takes "promoting high-quality and full employment" as its purpose, continuously building and improving the "15-minute employment service circle," allowing increasingly thoughtful employment services to "intensively land" at job seekers' "doorsteps."

The "15-Minute Employment Service Circle" Delivers a "Combo Package" Of Training and Recruitment

Job seeker Xiao Zhao has been unemployed for more than three months. Recently, after "graduating" from the "Yangpu District Youth Job-Seeking Ability Training Camp" organized by Changhai Road Sub-district, he decided to expand his job search direction to multiple fields of his interest. "This training camp has been a great help to me, and I've learned a lot of knowledge and skills that aren't in books. In the mock interview session, I learned to overcome my nervousness and tried to communicate smoothly with the companies I liked. At the same time, I also realized that I shouldn't limit my job search direction too much. Although I studied finance in college, I can try any position that interests me."

Combining the "process model" with "situational teaching," experts from multiple fields served as instructors, creating real and vivid job-seeking scenarios through mock interviews, group competitions, and company visits to help participants deeply understand workplace culture and corporate needs... During this training camp, a team of mentors consisting of multiple experts carefully designed a series of courses on professional quality improvement, job interview skills, resume writing, and career planning, providing participants with comprehensive job-seeking skills training.

Wang Jiafeng, Deputy Manager of the Human Resources Department of Shanghai State-owned Enterprise Business Human Resources Management Co., Ltd., is the person in charge of this training camp. In an interview, she emphasized that the key to the training camp is "practicality." "We hope to bring tangible help to job seekers. In fact, they were initially quite negative about job hunting, but we are delighted to see that everyone's attitude has changed, and they are very serious about preparing resumes and interviews."

As soon as the training camp ended, the participants entered the "real battle" - the "15-minute employment service circle" 2024 100-day million-level recruitment special action job fair.

This job fair set up online and offline special events. A total of 8 companies were recruited to participate offline, offering more than 60 positions and planning to recruit more than 150 people. The online special event was set up in the community shared live broadcast room of Changhai Road Sub-district, with more than 10 companies bringing more than 40 types of positions and planning to recruit more than 160 people. According to statistics, the job fair preliminarily reached intentions with 19 people online and offline, including 3 participants from the training camp.

Previously, Xinjiangwancheng Sub-district and Wujiaochang Sub-district jointly held a "Yangpu District Youth Job-Seeking Ability Training Camp." Compared to Xiao Zhao's "full harvest," Xiao Chen, an outstanding participant of this training camp, had a bit more "regret": "Six days is too short. If there is an opportunity next time, I still want to participate. In the training camp, I not only learned how to optimize my resume but also learned some practical skills for work, which are very useful."

In the "learn and apply" session - the "15-minute employment service circle" Xinjiangwancheng offline large-scale job fair, more than 20 companies participated, covering multiple fields such as finance, services, and new energy, planning to recruit more than 330 people.

Participant Ms. Wang has a bachelor's degree in accounting. She said, "This job fair is a great opportunity for re-employment. When job hunting, I place more importance on the compatibility between the position and my major. As the saying goes, every trade has its master. Secondly, the company's development prospects and salary and benefits are also aspects I focus on." After "comparing three homes," Ms. Wang finally submitted her resume to two companies.

We learned that on the eve of the job fair, staff from the community employment service station of the "15-minute employment service circle" in Xinjiangwancheng Sub-district conducted telephone surveys of registered unemployed and jobless people in the jurisdiction and informed them of the job fair information. "I think this form is very good. The sub-district is going all out to provide us with employment services, and I hope there will be more such activities in the future," said Xiao Liu, who was waiting in line to communicate with the company's HR.

According to statistics, more than 170 job seekers participated in the job fair, with preliminary intentions reached by about 70 people.

Employment is the biggest livelihood issue. Currently, our district is actively building a "15-minute employment service circle" to further extend service tentacles to residents' "doorsteps." Next, Changhai Road Sub-district will promote vocational skills training projects and continuously improve the supply-demand matching platform, with the goal of "matching people and positions, making the best use of talents, and allowing everyone to fully utilize their abilities," to improve the quality and stability of regional employment. The person in charge of the Xinjiangwancheng Sub-district Service Office said, "In the future, the sub-district will continue to make good use of employment support policies for key groups and promote vocational skills training projects to help optimize the 'attracting, cultivating, employing, and retaining' full-chain talent development system."

Creating an "Outpost" For Entrepreneurship and Employment, Internships and Competitions Are All "Testing Grounds" For Applying What You Have Learned

After three months of preparation, 47 units, 131 internship positions, and 169 outstanding college students participated. Recently, the 16th Yangpu District College Student Summer Internship in Government and Public Institutions has officially kicked off.

At this time last year, Sun Zhenyu from the School of Information Science and Engineering at Fudan University was interning at the district statistics bureau. This summer, as a new selected cadre in the district, he continues to contribute his youthful strength to our district. "I hope that in the future, I can stand from the government's perspective, based on government functions, to better serve the people and solve problems for enterprises," Sun Zhenyu said.

Internships are a process of applying and testing the theoretical knowledge learned in actual work, a process of self-reflection and self-improvement, and a process of establishing connections with society and formulating career plans. Summer internships have become an important part of Yangpu's "training-internship-apprenticeship-employment" talent cultivation chain service. Since 2007, the district human resources and social security bureau has successfully organized and carried out 15 sessions of college student summer internship activities in government and public institutions.

It is reported that so far, our district has established 73 college student internship bases, receiving more than 8,000 college student interns annually. Next, the district human resources and social security bureau will continue to vigorously expand the scale of internship bases to benefit more enterprises and college students, helping them adapt to and become familiar with the workplace environment in advance, and assisting college students in their job search and employment. In addition, it will also innovate work methods and pilot a program featuring grassroots party building services starting this year to help college students and other youth groups accumulate more employment practice experience and improve their employability.

The relevant person in charge of the district human resources and social security bureau said, "Internship experience is an indispensable and important part of a college student's job-seeking resume. And for units, internships are a process of cultivating and discovering talents who truly meet the unit's requirements."

The "testing ground" for applying what you have learned is not only in internship units.

Recently, the "GigaDevice Cup" China Graduate Electric Design Contest "Arm China Cup" Shanghai Division competition is in full swing at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. This year's competition attracted 7,368 entries from 310 colleges and universities across the country, with a record high number of registered teams in the Shanghai division. "I hope that the majority of students can exchange and learn through the competition, improve their innovation capabilities, and contribute to the country's construction of a strong science and technology nation," said Liu Tingxuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of The China Graduate Electric Design Contest.

At the competition site, contestants showcased their works and defended them around 7 tracks including mechatronics control and intelligent manufacturing, circuits and embedded systems, and artificial intelligence.
