What Are the Good Places to Visit During Summer Vacation on the Fifth Anniversary of People's City? Libraries Are Popular, and CCTV Focuses on District Libraries July 24,2024
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the People's City concept. As the birthplace of this concept, Yangpu is thriving with the vigorous development of the digital economy and vibrant youth. Let's experience this increasingly "YOUNG" people's city together...
In the scorching summer, what are the good places to escape the heat? During the summer vacation, many people choose to go to libraries to avoid the heat and "recharge," and libraries have ushered in a peak of customer flow. Today, CCTV's finance channel focuses on district libraries. Let's take a look together.
Not long after opening on the weekend, the district library was basically full. The yellow glazed tiles, gate towers, flying eaves, and roof paintings give the library the characteristics of Chinese palace architecture.
"The tabletops and desk lamps in the reading room are very distinctive, with a sense of time and cultural connotation. The atmosphere is particularly good, and the people around are relatively quiet," said a reader.
This ancient city wall-style library connects the city's historical memory with its present and future. The building faces east, with two main floors and three floors in some parts. The design adopts a mixed style of modern architecture and traditional Chinese architecture.
After renovation and expansion, the district library reopened to the public in 2018. It covers an area of about 15,000 square meters, of which the renovated area of the original building is about 4,000 square meters, and the expanded area is more than 10,000 square meters. The library can accommodate 800 readers at the same time.
During the summer vacation, the district library has created a reading brand for all citizens called "YOUNG Reading Room." It carries out various online and offline activities such as Jingsi Lectures and "Yueyin Book Talk," inviting citizens to view art exhibitions, enjoy good plays, attend lectures, and participate in research and study, enriching the cultural needs of readers of all ages.
