Last year, the Shanghai · Show Bund "Happy Summer" German Beer festival was a huge hit and received widespread acclaim! This cross-cultural celebration of food and drink is back this year as scheduled.
The 2025 Shanghai · Show Bund "Happy Summer" German Beer Festival will take place at the Oriental Fisherman Wharf along Yangpu Riverside from September 25 to October 1!
This event will partner with the "Shanghai International Light Festival" and the "Shanghai Tourism Festival" to create a multidimensional festive effect. It will offer citizens and domestic and foreign tourists an immersive midsummer carnival that combines beer culture, exotic cuisine, modern light and shadow art, and live music.

The main venue of the festival - Oriental Fisherman Wharf has built a giant festive tent in the authentic Bavarian style, complemented by the riverside night view. It allows people to feel as if they are in Munich's Theresienwiese, experiencing the German-style festive atmosphere. Traditional barrel opening ceremonies, band performances, and beer festival parades will all be presented along Yangpu Riverside.

The festival features a variety of theme activities: exclusive fashion shows by renowned Austrian designers, performances by a European beer festival band and a Filipino jazz-rock band. These diverse-style performances range from classic and passionate to energetic and wild. Each day has a different theme. In addition, the event includes several rounds of surprise interactions. From September 25 to 27, there will be lucky draws, mystery gifts, and fun interactive games.

In addition to the main venue at the Oriental Fisherman Wharf, there are many activities on Daxue Road. The road will set up check-in spots rich in German beer festival cultural elements and offer beer festival-exclusive discounts in cooperation with specialty restaurants along the route!

The "Yangpu Promotion & Foreign-funded Enterprises Exchange Meeting" came before the opening ceremony of the festival. By building a platform for dialogue with key foreign-funded enterprises, the meeting will solicit opinions of enterprises face to face and address their development concerns. It will strongly convey the district's firm confidence in continuously expanding opening-up, optimizing the business environment, strengthening intellectual property protection, and welcoming global investors to share development opportunities.
The planning and hosting of this year's beer festival and related activities are another innovative move for the district to promote the deep integration of commerce, tourism, culture, and sports, optimize the international business environment, and enhance the city's soft power and international appeal. The event offers citizens and tourists diverse experiences and vividly demonstrates the district's open, innovative, and inclusive nature. It injects distinctive Yangpu vitality into Shanghai's efforts to build a top-notch global city.
