Career Link: Shanghai's First Integrated Professional Qualification Service Center Inaugurated in Yangpu June 10,2025
To enhance cross-strait integration and facilitate the recognition of professional qualifications for Taiwanese compatriots across regions, the "Career Link across the Straits" Inaugural Ceremony of Shanghai (Yangpu) Sub-Center for Integrated Professional Qualifications of Taiwanese Compatriots & Taiwanese Youth Internship and Employment Fair recently took place at the NOYA Taiwan Youth Hub in Pacific Fresh City. By creating a cooperation platform between Shanghai and Fujian, this initiative offers Taiwanese compatriots comprehensive support, bridging professional certification with employment opportunities.
Shanghai and Fujian collaborate to bridge professional recognition for Taiwanese compatriots
A special video at the event highlighted the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone's trailblazing efforts in streamlining professional qualification services for Taiwanese compatriots. As a model zone for cross-strait integration, Pingtan has cracked the code on making Taiwanese certifications viable in the Chinese mainland, with recognition spanning 50 industries such as construction, computer, and food.
To expand service reach, Yangpu has reached an agreement with the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone. The agreement focuses on deepening collaboration in recognizing Taiwanese professional qualifications, sharing employment opportunities, and cultivating talents. The Yangpu Sub-Center will leverage Pingtan's established standards to offer comprehensive certification services for Taiwanese in Shanghai, breaking down employment barriers due to certification discrepancies.
At the venue, the Shanghai (Yangpu) Sub-Center for Integrated Professional Qualifications of Taiwanese Compatriots was inaugurated. Being the first and only center of its kind in Shanghai, this sub-center signifies a leap from individual breakthroughs to coordinated regional efforts in serving cross-strait talents. It now enables Taiwanese compatriots to move seamlessly between Shanghai and Taiwan with just one certificate.
The Shanghai Yangpu-Fujian Pingtan Cross-Strait Internship & Employment Service Alliance was established, with over 30 companies seeking talents on-site
The alliance aims to pool employment resources from Shanghai and Fujian, organize regular job fairs, and provide career planning and policy advice to support Taiwanese youth in their job search.
The concurrent special job fair sent the atmosphere soaring. Over 30 prominent companies like Shanghai In-Rich Financial Services, DFFIT Health Technology, and Johnson Health Tech offered more than 100 job openings across finance, tech, and food sectors.
From the "first stop" to the "settling point": Yangpu keeps improving the environment for Taiwanese youth
Yangpu, home to the most universities in Shanghai, has led the city in hosting special job fairs for Taiwanese students since 2015. It has created a seamless service system that links internship, employment, and long-term settlement by offering talent apartments and establishing entrepreneurial training bases. At the event, the Yangpu Human Resources and Social Security Bureau set up booths to answer questions and clear doubts for Taiwanese youth looking for jobs.
"I've truly felt the warmth and support here for Taiwanese youth," said a Taiwanese student surnamed Ji at Fudan University, "The district has created a seamless bridge from campus to career, and I'm excited about the possibilities for my future here."
This event seeks to merge Yangpu's strengths with Fujian's expertise. Going forward, Yangpu will leverage the integrated professional qualifications platform to enhance Shanghai-Fujian collaboration. The district plans to set up a regular job matching platform, refine entrepreneurial support for Taiwanese youth, and upgrade life services. This holistic approach will foster a dynamic ecosystem where Taiwanese youth can thrive and contribute to cross-strait integrated development.
