In December 2024, the Spring Festival was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. With the first "world intangible heritage edition" of the Spring Festival approaching, Yinhang Sub-district launched the "Our Festival • Happy Chinese New Year" Spring Festival series on January 19. The "Nation Rejuvenation with Me" cultural and artistic performance - "Brushes Dance with Dragon and Snake, China Chic Flourishes in the New Spring" Yinhang 17th Spring Festival Couplets Cultural Festival 2025 kicked off at the Yangpu Culture and Art Center.

Sending Spring Festival Couplets and "Fu" Characters, Dancing the Chinese New Year

The drum rhythm was soul-stirring and magnificent. At the kickoff ceremony, the Jasmine Dance Troupe performed Joyful Song in the Prosperous Times, combining Chinese drums with traditional dance to instantly enliven the festive and harmonious atmosphere of the Spring Festival. The BDA Yanghua Dance Troupe's Splendor featured fluttering skirts and sleeves, showcasing the grandeur and beauty of a great nation and a magnificent China.

A key highlight of the Spring Festival Couplets Cultural Festival is the writing of Spring Festival couplets. One standout program featured a fusion of Han Dynasty dance and calligraphy. Renowned calligraphers like Wu Liang'an, Chang Jiren, and Zhang Yan wrote Spring Festival couplets and "Fu" characters with vigorous brushstrokes, conveying New Year blessings to local residents.

"Writing Spring Festival couplets is a vital part of our national culture. While beautifully printed couplets are readily available online and in supermarkets, writing them fosters a unique emotional connection. It also sets an example for future generations, helping to preserve our cultural heritage and strengthen cultural confidence," said Wu Liang'an, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Yangpu Calligraphers Association.

Promoting civilization and building a people's city. The event showcased achievements in community civilization, highlighting Yinhang's new trends and styles. Representatives from various sectors and winners of the "Beautiful Yinhang in My Eyes" Contest received "Fu" characters and Spring Festival couplets.

The event also unveiled "Lianlian", the new brand IP image for Yinhang's "Spring Festival Couplets Cultural Festival". With its energetic, childlike round eyes and holding Spring Festival couplets that symbolize Yinhang's cultural spirit, "Lianlian" embodies warmth and vitality. It reflects Yinhang's ongoing innovation in preserving spring couplet culture and demonstrates a dynamic, forward-moving force.

Breaking New Dimensions, Embracing Spring with China Chic

At the event, Yinhang teamed up with Bilibili and Papergames to host an ACGN Spring Festival garden party. A well-designed China chic cultural space enabled residents to fully immerse themselves in the unique charm of blending trendy and traditional cultures. Performances like New Year Otaku dance and a grand anime song sing-along further enlivened the atmosphere and enhanced the "ACGN" vibe of the event.

The venue also featured fun garden games such as pitch-pot, matching Spring Festival couplets, and wealth and treasure, bringing endless joy and surprises to participants. Exchanging for small prizes added to the festive fun while promoting traditional culture.

Beyond these activities, the garden party included a giant Spring Festival couplets exhibition, a New Year blessing area, and a zone for a hundred people to write "Fu" characters. These areas enabled residents to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival and capture joyful moments of the New Year while sightseeing. At the venue, two little girls also picked up their brushes to write "Fu" characters, wishing everyone good fortune and good health.

The event lasted three hours, drawing on the cultural heritage of Yinhang. By combining offline participation with live streaming, it offered residents a splendid cultural feast. Looking ahead, Yinhang will remain committed to meeting the needs of local residents. It will delve into and preserve the cultural essence of festivals, continuously innovate in forms, and foster the interaction and fusion between traditional and contemporary cultures.
