Construction and Renovation of 4 Public Fitness Tracks and 70 Public Fitness Gardens: A Look into the Two District Sessions January 10,2025
Throughout 2024, the Yangpu District People's Government prioritized the progress of practical projects, with a focus on key livelihood issues including education, employment, healthcare, and elderly care, all of which directly impact the daily lives of residents. By the end of December, all the 58 items in 10 categories of livelihood projects for 2024 had been successfully completed, further boosting the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security. Completion of Livelihood Projects
Cultural and Sports Services
44. Constructing and renovating two community fitness centers
Two community fitness centers were constructed and renovated, including the Dinghai Community Fitness Center at 350 Aiguo Road and the Jiangpu Community C Fitness Center on 3F/4F at 143 Liaoyuan West Road.
45. Constructing and renovating four public fitness tracks
Four public fitness tracks were constructed and renovated, located in Lane 131 Community (Phase 1) on Yanji East Road, Lane 10 Community on Tumen Road, Kailu Sancun Community, and Lane 470 Community on Yinhang Road respectively.
46. Constructing and renovating 70 public fitness gardens
70 public fitness gardens were constructed and renovated, ensuring coverage across all 12 sub-districts in Yangpu.
47. Constructing and renovating three public fitness stations
Eight public fitness stations were constructed and renovated, located in Jiangpu Community, Kongjiang Community, Neighborhood 228, Siping Community, Yinhang Community, Wujiaochang Community, Changhai Community, and New Jiangwan City Community respectively.
48. Constructing and renovating two public sports courts
Two public sports courts were constructed and renovated, including the Ningguo Road Basketball Court at 503 Ningguo Road and the Jungong Road Community Basketball Court near Songhuajiang Road on Jungong Road.
49. Opening teaching points of Night Art School for Citizens in all the 12 sub-districts in Yangpu
15 teaching points of Night Art School for Citizens were opened in all the 12 sub-districts in Yangpu throughout the year, conducting 456 training sessions and benefiting 9,444 people. The curriculum included 38 diverse art courses, ranging from regular courses like calligraphy and vocal music to innovative offerings such as five-tone healing, wine tasting, flower arrangement, and specialty coffee, as well as intangible cultural heritage courses like dough modeling, Baduanjin (a qigong exercise), and wool knitting. These courses drew significant social attention and were highly praised by students.
Public Safety and Security
50. Installing simple sprinkler systems, alarms, and other fire protection facilities in 300 centralized electric bicycle charging areas
300 existing areas were renovated with the addition of simple sprinkler systems, fire detectors, and video surveillance systems, and old electrical wiring was replaced. In consideration of specific circumstances, additional fire protection equipment such as mechanical smoke exhaust systems, fire emergency lighting, evacuation signs, fire extinguishers, and manual alarm devices were also installed.
51. Repairing and upgrading fire protection facilities in 15 high-rise residential buildings over 20 years old
15 high-rise buildings saw updates and renovations to their fire protection facilities, including improvements to floor identification and the addition of fire alarm systems, simple sprinklers, evacuation signs, and emergency lighting.
52. Implementing fire protection facility maintenance for 190 high-rise residential buildings
For the 190 high-rise residential buildings that had their fire protection facilities renovated between 2016 and 2021, professional technical service agencies were engaged to perform maintenance on these facilities.
53. Constructing six upgraded mini fire stations
In accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of Social Fire Organizations in Shanghai, eight upgraded community mini fire stations were established to decrease the response time for firefighting and emergency rescue operations, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of early fire detection and extinguishment.
54. Installing independent smoke detectors in 3000 households of the elderly
Independent smoke detectors were fitted in the homes of elderly individuals living alone or in elderly-only households, providing remote fire alarm capabilities and effectively preventing fire accidents in these homes.
Skill Training
55. Conducting Red Cross emergency first aid training for 12,000 people
The district extended Red Cross emergency training into schools, government offices, office buildings, enterprises, and industrial parks, with a total of 24,726 people attending Red Cross emergency first aid training across the district.
56. Organizing specialized public protection training
Throughout 2024, specialized public protection training was organized across the district, teaching civil defense knowledge and skills to 301 community civil defense volunteers, 98 primary and secondary school civil defense teachers, and 75 kindergarten teachers.
Employment Security
57. Helping 600 long-term unemployed young people get reemployed
Concentrating efforts on long-term unemployed young people, the district intensified policy implementation, reinforced the grassroots service network, refined public employment services like job-seeking capability camps, and regularly organized both online and offline job fairs. By ensuring service support, safeguarding rights and interests, aiding those in difficulty, enhancing capabilities, and facilitating access, the district actively secured the employment of key groups, helping 1,214 long-term unemployed young people find jobs and start businesses.
58. Training 400 new enterprise apprentices
Leveraging collaborations between enterprises and educational institutions, and integrating work with study, the district organized new hires and position changers in skilled roles to attend new enterprise apprentice training, with a total of 729 new enterprise apprentices trained.
