This year, Yangpu has been designated as one of the first integrated innovation areas of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SHFTZ), enhancing its high-standard opening up system and creating new momentum for the development of the people's city. Recently, the Yangpu District People's Government, in collaboration with Shanghai Customs, organized a customs policy dissemination and demand-matching meeting aimed at facilitating customs clearance for tech talents and promoting the development of new foreign trade forms.

Present at the meeting were representatives from more than 20 market entities such as the Department of Free Trade Zone and Special Control Area and the Department of Port Control of Shanghai Customs, Yangpu Customs, Yangpu Development and Reform Commission, Yangpu Commission of Commerce, Yangpu High-Level Talent Development Service Center, STI Group, and universities like Fudan University, Tongji University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, as well as innovation institutions including the Shanghai Center of the CUHK Shanghai Centre and the Nordic Innovation Center, along with key enterprises.

During the event, experts from Shanghai Customs detailed innovative policies and systems for the customs clearance facilitation of high-level and other technological talents, as well as for bonded display transactions, bonded R&D, bonded repairs, and cross-border e-commerce. They provided on-site Q&A and discussed the further implementation of the customs-local cooperation memorandum, support for the construction of the Yangpu Integrated Innovation Area of SHFTZ, and the creation of the warmest urban business environment.

The participants also visited the Shanghai Institute for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences, a new-type research institution jointly supported by Shanghai, Yangpu, and Fudan University. It is devoted to achieving significant findings in fundamental mathematical theories and applied research, propelling the innovation and development of high-end industries.

Yangpu is accelerating the construction of an integrated innovation area, with key tasks such as "providing facilitation measures for high-level talents and their cross-border items", "encouraging the expansion of bonded R&D services", and "promoting the cultivation of new foreign trade forms like bonded display transactions." This year, Shanghai Customs and the Yangpu District People's Government signed a cooperation memorandum to collaboratively create the warmest urban business environment in Yangpu.

Yangpu is dedicated to fostering an inviting and delightful ecological environment and accelerating the development of new foreign trade momentum. Looking ahead, Yangpu will leverage the construction of the integrated innovation area of SHFTZ and the implementation of the customs-local cooperation memorandum. Focusing on the actual needs of various innovative entities, Yangpu will seize policy opportunities and enhance synergistic efforts to constantly deepen customs-local collaboration. The goal is to ensure that Yangpu keeps ahead in reform and development, thereby enhancing Shanghai's pivotal and exemplary influence in advancing Chinese modernization.
