HKCCC Shanghai "Summer Internship Program 2024" in Yangpu August 14,2024
The recent "2024 Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Youth Internship Program" - HKCCC Shanghai "Summer Internship Program 2024", organized by the Yangpu Overseas Friendship Association (YOFA), has successfully concluded. The six-week program primarily engaged nearly 30 students, mainly from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Through hands-on activities, academic studies, visits and listening, they learned about the history and development of Shanghai and Yangpu, and experienced the local culture as well as the economic and social development of Shanghai and Yangpu. Dong Xinwang, Member of Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Chairman of YOFA, warmly greeted the interns, and encouraged them to deeply engage with the workplace and society, to feel the pulse of the city, and to experience the dynamic interplay between the people and the city in the development of a people's city.
During their field trips, the interns delved into the rich historical and cultural heritage and modern technological development of Shanghai, an international metropolis. Their journey commenced at the Sihang Warehouses Memorial Museum, where they were immersed in the heroic tales of the "Eight Hundred Heroes" represented by Xie Jinyuan, brought to life through a blend of historical photos and artifacts with modern multimedia technology. Zhou Yajun, President of the Shanghai Alumni Association of the Huangpu Military Academy, delivered a personal account. As descendants of China, we should honor the revolutionary martyrs, bear in mind the history, cherish the hard-won peace, sustain the revolutionary tradition and the spirit of the heroes, make the spirit of our nation and the ethos of the Huangpu Military Academy flourish in this era, and contribute to national unity and rejuvenation.
The interns visited the Yangpu Binjiang People's City Construction Planning Exhibition Hall, where they experienced the practical results of the people's city concept and gained a deep understanding of the important concept that "the city built by the people should serve the people" proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping. At Inceptio Technology, they witnessed the intelligent development outcomes of autonomous driving for heavy trucks; at Zizhu National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Neusoft, they learned about the development history of science parks in Shanghai; and at the Xicen S&T Innovation Center and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, they experienced the vitality of the community culture of Jiangnan's innovation-driven water town.
At entities such as HKCCC Shanghai and Cushman & Wakefield International Property Advisers (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the interns learned about fine corporate culture, were exposed to cutting-edge technology, and integrated into a vibrant and competitive international economic environment. This not only enriched their knowledge and improved their capabilities, but also firmed up their confidence in future development.
