For further information, please refer to the details below.

The shield tunneling of the upline of the section from Changjiang South Road Station to Tongnan Road Station in Phase II of Line 18 has successfully commenced

Recently, the shield tunneling of the upline of the section (Section 1) from Changjiang South Road Station to Tongnan Road Station in Phase II of Shanghai Metro Line 18 has successfully commenced. Spanning 663.429 meters, the tunnel top is buried at a depth of 11.4-18.2 meters, with the smallest curve radius being 1,000 meters and the maximum longitudinal gradient at 20‰.

This section employs a new type of plug-in segment, characterized by high assembly precision and challenging control requirements. Moreover, the geological conditions at the tunnel's starting point are intricate, with the tunnel bottom a mere 2.3 meters above the ⑦1-1 sandy silt layer that contains pressurized water. To mitigate the risks associated with the initiation of shield tunneling, a composite construction technique involving "cement-based materials, horizontal freezing and double sock extension steel rings" was implemented. This approach ensured the safety and reliability of the terminal reinforcement, preventing potential hazards such as water inrush, sand flow and pipe flow at the gap between the portal ring and the shield edge during the tunneling start, thus ensuring the safety of the start.

The shield tunneling of the outbound track of Phase II of Line 18 has successfully commenced

Recently, another shield tunneling machine for Phase II of Line 18 has also commenced successfully from the west portal of Hulan Road Station. The commencement pertains to the outbound track of the Miaoxing Depot, and with this, four shield tunneling machines at the west end of Hulan Road Station are now advancing in the same direction, indicating that the tunnel shield construction has officially entered a phase of intensive progression.

The shield tunneling section from Hulan Road Station to Miaoxing Depot spans 856.53 meters, and navigates through complex geological conditions and the surrounding environment. The operation features an upward crossing of the main line, a shallow overburden crossing of Dongjiaojing and Huzhuangqiao, and a side crossing of the Yunzaobang flood control wall.

Digital shield tunneling integrates technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. Based on precise perception of construction information, it endows the shield tunneling machine with autonomous capabilities in judgment, cognition, decision-making and control. With the autonomous driving system, the machine can independently complete a series of complex construction operations, including independently manage various construction parameters, perform automatic excavation, and execute complex construction tasks such as automatic correction and attitude adjustment, achieving long-distance precision advancement and significantly enhancing the quality, safety and efficiency of the shield tunneling process.

The main structure of Aihui Road Station on Line 18 has been smoothly completed and capped

Recently, the main structure of Aihui Road Station on Line 18 has been smoothly completed and capped. To date, five out of the six stations on Phase II of Line 18 have been capped, marking another solid step forward in the construction of Phase II of Line 18.

Aihui Road Station, situated at the intersection of Aihui Road and Hulan Road in Baoshan District, is an underground three-level island platform station. The main body measures 168.6 meters in length and 24.24 meters in width, with the deepest excavation reaching 27.7 meters. Constructed using the open-cut method, the station features three entrances and two sets of ventilation shafts.

The shield tunneling of the upline of the section from Guanglan Road Station to Gaosi Road Station in Phase I of Line 21 has successfully commenced

Recently, the shield tunneling of the upline of the section (Section 5) from Guanglan Road to Gaosi Road in Phase I (civil engineering) of Shanghai Metro Line 21 has successfully commenced, marking the completion of both the up and down lines of this section.

The Guanglan Road-Gaosi Road section utilizes shield tunneling construction, with the downline measuring 944.514 meters in length. The excavation diameter for this operation is 6.76 meters, and a new type of plug-in segment is employed. The section will traverse important parts such as rivers and revetments. The starting segment involves an uphill curve, demanding high standards for construction safety and quality.
