"Ink and Brush Museum" is a Shanghai national-level intangible cultural heritage productive protection demonstration base and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. It is planned, constructed and operated by Shanghai Zhou Huchen Cao Sugong Ink Co., Ltd. Located at No. 16, No. 1300 Jungong Road, Tea Bank Cultural and Creative Park, Yangpu District, Shanghai, it covers an area of about 7,000 square meters. The company has inherited the Cao Sugong Ink Factory and Zhou Huchen Brush Factory, which have a history of more than 300 years, and their reputations. Both are the oldest existing "time-honored brands" and brands in Shanghai and China's traditional ink and brush making industries, with a rich historical heritage, strong technical advantages, and exquisite product quality.

"Ink and Brush Museum" integrates five major functions of "production, tourism, research, cultural creativity, and scientific research". It actively explores new ideas and methods for the operation and inheritance of traditional Chinese culture. The activities are rich in content, mainly in two forms: inviting in and going out. Inviting in includes visits, research, experience, Grand Art Education Classroom, lectures by intangible cultural heritage masters, etc. Going out includes intangible cultural heritage into the campus, buildings, communities, cultural spaces, etc. There are also special activities for traditional festivals such as coming-of-age ceremonies, celebrating the New Year, and the Lantern Festival, which are deeply loved by the public.

Demonstration Project: Dough Figurine (Xinjiangwancheng Subdistrict)

Jiangwan dough flowers add new dough flower art elements on the basis of the original Shanghai-style dough figurine craftsmanship, creating new forms of dough flower expressions such as "cartoon portrait dough flowers", "calligraphy dough flowers", and "scene dough flowers". The works are lifelike, colorful, with vivid facial features and flowing costumes, making the dough figurines more contemporary and ornamental. Xinjiangwancheng Subdistrict has established "dough figurine" intangible cultural heritage inheritance teaching points in 5 neighborhood centers, and has a multi-functional hall and intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall in the cultural center for teaching, displaying and exhibiting the dough figurine project. In recent years, "five-district" inheritance activities such as community visits, school visits, camp visits, commercial district visits, and park visits for the inheritance of "dough figurine" intangible cultural heritage are held every year. The figure of "dough figurine" can be seen at the annual Lantern Festival parade, Citizen Culture Day, Cultural and Natural Heritage Day and other major events.

Shanghai Flower Pattern Sutras (Changhai Road Subdistrict)

Shanghai Flower Pattern Sutras are the oral formulas and lyrics of Shanghai paper-cutting artists when they walked the streets and set up stalls to sell their art. The feature is singing while cutting, singing the related flower pattern sutras while cutting the flower patterns. The "Paper-cutting Flower Pattern Sutras" of Changhai Road Subdistrict has changed people's previous static impression of paper-cutting. It combines the static pictures of paper-cutting, adds impromptu lyrics and live performances, and integrates folk art forms and folk literature. On the basis of inheriting the traditional singing and chanting of "paper-cutting flower pattern sutras", it adds lyrics that promote the current situation, innovates Shanghai flower pattern sutras, redefines the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage from the perspective of "listening, watching, and enjoying", and turns "paper-cutting flower pattern sutras" into a comprehensive art that combines static and dynamic, an art that both inherits tradition and constantly innovates, standing out among many paper-cutting arts.
