On April 26, "For the Living Comfort of the Youth in Yangpu" - Yangpu Affordable Rental Housing Promotion Event was held at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). In the event, a number of affordable rental housing projects with suitable prices and locations in Changbai Xincun, Wujiaochang, New Jiangwan City and other sub-districts were recommended, helping fresh graduates find quality housing that are appropriately priced and meet their needs.

Affordable rental housing, a combination of market-oriented operation and housing security, is intended to solve the housing difficulty of new citizens and young people who meet the application requirements. On the scene, operators of affordable rental housing extended olive branches, introducing housing information including locations, housing types, rental prices and supporting facilities, and offering preferences.

"Located between the inner ring and the middle ring, the project is two kilometers from the Wujiaochang business district and directly leads to People's Square via rail transit, and the average rent is about 3,200 yuan to 4,600 yuan per month with the property fee included," said a staff member of Chuangyu 228.

Xiao Hu, a graduate from the School of Accountancy, SUFE in the current year, planned to stay in Shanghai for development. She learned about affordable rental housing from the university. "The decorations and intelligent equipment of affordable rental housing are more in line with the needs of young people, and unlike apartments, such housing supplies household water and electricity, which appeals to us fresh graduates with weak economic capabilities," she said.

In response to common problems facing students, such as unfamiliarity with policies, little experience in housing renting, and lack of housing information, the Yangpu Housing Security Center (YHSC) introduced the distribution of housing sources, the characteristics of housing projects, application policies, and services in Changbai Xincun, Wujiaochang, New Jiangwan City and other sub-districts.

Zhang Zixi is a senior student at the School of Public Economics and Administration, SUFE. He believed that current young people care more about the "circle of friends" and "high efficiency". Living in affordable rental housing helps fresh graduates save money, find a fulcrum in their work and life, make like-minded friends and step into career high efficiency. "Affordable rental housing is well decorated, fully furnished and equipped, which makes it convenient for us to put more energy into our work," he said.

Considering factors such as work commuting, business support and job sites, based on the features of fresh graduates and start-ups, affordable rental housing includes not only one-bedroom housing, one-bedroom & one-living-room housing and loft housing, but also beds for rent offered by the Home of New Era Builders and Managers, said Wang Haiyun of YHSC. With shared kitchens, public laundries, public reading rooms and public communication space, such housing can meet the different needs of young people in the new era.

As the place where the important concept of the people's city was first proposed, Yangpu has a great concentration of century-old universities. Guided by the CYL Yangpu District Committee and the Yangpu Bureau of Housing Security and Management (YBHSM), organized by YHSC and the CYL Committee of YBHSM, it is the first affordable rental housing campus promotion event in Yangpu. Sources of affordable rental housing are stable, and applicants can renew their contracts annually on a long-term basis if they meet the application requirements. In accordance with Shanghai's policies of affordable rental housing, rental prices of affordable rental housing should be initially priced at less than 90% of those of rental housing in the same locations and of the same quality on the market.
