The 8th Huangxing Park Begonia Culture Festival Officially Commences April 01,2024
Resplendent as ever, the begonias bloom in their full glory. On March 30, 2024, the 8th Huangxing Park Begonia Culture Festival and the 3rd Begonia Horticultural Culture Market officially opened their doors.
With the gentle warmth of spring sunshine, Huangxing Park's 6,000 square meter begonia forest bloomed in full, with over a thousand begonia plants blossoming in the breeze. Citizens and tourists alike captured moments with Hanfu enthusiasts, danced with photography lovers, and admired the breathtaking begonia forest.
Enchanting music and graceful dance moves, presented by the solo dance "Climbing the Spring Mountain" performed by dancers from the Huangxing Park community, transported the audience into a world brimming with the essence of spring amid the begonias.
The begonia forest, laden with drooping branches, became the first photo spot for citizens and tourists, its beauty enhanced by the spring sunlight. Young individuals dressed in Hanfu stood beneath the begonia trees, their photographs with the flowers even more picturesque amid the fragrance.
Ms. Lin, a visitor, excitedly stated, "The begonias in Huangxing Park are exceptionally beautiful, and with the Begonia Culture Festival activities, I hurried over to capture these moments." Ms. Chen, in anticipation of spring, donned her exquisite Hanfu for a photoshoot, believing that Hanfu, as a traditional Chinese attire, is a national treasure and wearing it to admire the flowers signifies a cultural heritage.
Within the begonia forest, apart from the well-known drooping begonias, there were also North American and Xifu begonias among other varieties. During the Begonia Culture Festival, visitors could indulge in the sight of over a thousand different begonia plants. According to Mr. Shi Kemin, the director of Huangxing Park, the park has also planted Snow Sprays, Golden Bars, and other plants around the begonias to enrich the landscape, offering visitors a more layered viewing experience.
At the Haipai Market area of the Begonia Culture Festival, various flower-related handicraft activities also attracted visitors. At the handmade sachet stall, sachets composed of dozens of dried flowers became a favorite among the adults. Not only do these dried flower sachets emit a pleasant fragrance, but they also aid in sleep. "These flowers, including jasmine, roses, and lavender, all help with sleep. I really love this sachet," said Aunt Qin, holding a sachet and listing its contents.
It is reported that during this year's Begonia Culture Festival, Huangxing Park's Little Begonia Square will host multiple performances, including Chinese fan dances, themed songs, poetry recitations, specialty dances, marching band music, folk music ensembles, choirs, and classical dances, continually sparking public participation. Visitors who display their old photos or photos of begonias taken in Huangxing Park can participate in an on-site lottery. Simultaneously, visitors can also search the topic "#Huangxing Park Begonia Collection" on the TikTok platform, upload related videos or photos to participate in online activities, and have the chance to win on-site selected gifts, together recalling and sharing this beautiful moment.
We learned from Huangxing Park that since its inception in 2017, the Begonia Culture Festival has been shared with citizens each spring, showcasing the beauty of begonias. This year's festival will last three days (March 30 to April 1), coinciding with the peak bloom of begonias, offering the best scenery. Visitors linger in the sea of flowers, immersed in the charm of begonia culture, and enjoying the romantic atmosphere of spring.
