Recently, the Shanghai Greening and City Appearance Bureau announced the list of "High-Standard Sanitation Areas (Roads) for the Year 2023." Among them, three areas (roads) from our district were selected. Up to now, our district boasts a total of 12 high-standard sanitation areas (roads) in Shanghai.

In 2023, building upon the previous years' experience in high-standard sanitation, our district further deepened the application of the "layered and progressive" road sanitation method. With mechanical cleaning as the main approach and manual cleaning as a supplementary one, we adopted various equipment such as mechanical sweepers, flushing vehicles, sludge removal trucks, patrol cleaning vehicles, and manual flushing vehicles. Tailored to different climates and blocks, and in combination with the road and overall environment, we have formed a three-tiered model of regular cleaning, meticulous cleaning, and deep cleaning. This model is applied to roads, sidewalks, and squares, among others, to carry out meticulous sanitation operations, ensuring an effect where "1+1>2". The local sanitation operation institutions, based on the reality of regional cleaning, have further optimized and adjusted cleaning models and operation techniques, forming their unique features. Yangpu Riverside Scenic Perimeter Area

The enclosed area of Dalian Road, Yangshupu Road, and Anpu Road

Based on the functional planning of the area, a nine-step meticulous sanitation plan is crafted, featuring "collect, pick, sprinkle, sweep, flush, grind, clear, transport, patrol." Utilizing small to medium-sized machinery to achieve detailed sanitation of roads and sidewalks within the area, and employing an "eight-piece set" for human-machine combined deep cleaning. Coordinating the scheduling and maintenance of vehicles and machinery to emphasize mechanized operations, increase the frequency of mechanical sweeping, and periodically implement daytime sprinkling and nighttime flushing, through reasonable adjustments to enhance efficiency.

Tongji University Enclosed Area

The enclosed area of Miyun Road, Zhongshan North Road 2, Siping Road, and Chifeng Road

Optimizing the operation routes of large sweeping trucks and water sprinkling vehicles based on the tidal flow characteristics of people in the area, and implementing manual meticulous cleaning. Starting with broad sweeping using large brooms followed by fine sweeping with smaller brooms, single-person sweeping vehicles, and flying cleaning vehicles for patrol cleaning, with small high-temperature flushing vehicles focusing on ensuring stubborn pollution and sanitary dead angles are addressed using small cleaning tools for scrubbing, scraping, and washing tasks.

Xinjiangwancheng Street Eastern Area

The enclosed area of Songhu Road, Guofan Road, and Zhayin Road

Implementing a full-process mechanized operation, fully utilizing the advantage of deploying a large number of machines, adopting a model that combines mechanical coverage and manual focus with human-machine cooperation. Large and small sweeping trucks and flushing vehicles team up to complete general sweeping, followed by 16 hours of uninterrupted mechanized patrol cleaning. Establishing a special task force to strengthen morning and evening cleaning efforts, further extending the time for meticulous area cleaning. Considering the seasonal characteristics of falling leaves, different road sections are differentiated, and cleaning plans are formulated accordingly, implementing a tailored cleaning strategy for each road, ensuring high-standard sanitation road requirements are met.

Our district will continue to lead with high-standard sanitation, consolidate and expand the creation areas, persistently strive to improve quality through targeted strategies, endeavor to increase the coverage of high-standard sanitation, support the enhancement of the urban appearance and environment in our district, better meet the people's needs for a beautiful life, and wholeheartedly create a high-quality urban environment for everyone to enjoy.
