The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies set the second Saturday of every September as the World First Aid Day. Hosted by the Organization Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee, the Red Cross Society of Yangpu District, as well as the Party Work Committee and Office of Dinghai Road Sub-district, World First Aid Day Awareness Event Yangpu 2023 was held successfully on a recent afternoon.

Present were Wan Xingwang, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Red Cross Society of China Shanghai Branch; Gu Dengmei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Yangpu District Committee; Sun Hongbing, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Secretary of the Social Work Party Committee of Yangpu District; Zhu Yanping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Yangpu District; Zhou Jianhui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Work Committee of Dinghai Road Sub-district and Director of the Dinghai Road Sub-district Office; and Zhang Xin, Vice General Manager of Shanghai Fashion Center Park Management Co., Ltd.

With the strong support of the Organization Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee, Yangpu's first Red Cross first aid station in a 4A tourist attraction has been established in the Shanghai Fashion Center Branch of Yangpu Binjiang Party-Mass Service Center. The station based on Party building features four functions: promotion of the Red Cross Movement, first aid training, emergency use of AEDs, and convenient health services. This is also an effective attempt of the Red Cross Society of Yangpu District to uphold the Party's leadership, devote itself to the building of a people's city and give full play to its role as a bridge between the Party and the people.

To help improve the management and function of the service center in the public waterfront space of Yangpu Binjiang, Shanghai Yangpu Sub-branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China donated life-saving devices - AEDs on the spot, showing its strong sense of social responsibility. These AEDs will be placed in the Red Cross first aid station in Shanghai Fashion Center.

Training certificates were presented to representatives of this year's Red Cross first aid trainees from foreign-funded enterprises, and the Red Cross first aid team from Naval Medical University was invited to conduct an on-site first aid drill. "Fraternity Yangpu" volunteer services were offered, and district-level licensed Red Cross medical institutions and volunteer teams were invited to provide free treatment and check-up, legal counseling and volunteer services. Besides, the Red Cross Society of Yangpu District opened an area for visitors to scan the QR code to learn about first aid, thereby further promoting the new trend of "everyone learning first aid, first aid benefits all" in the new era.

Before the event, the Red Cross Society of Yangpu District showed the representatives of foreign-funded enterprises around the Yangpu Binjiang People's City Building Planning & Exhibition Hall, to experience the outcomes of people's city building, as well as the development and changes of this city.
