As a major outcome of district-school strategic cooperation, Jiangwan Campus of the Second School Affiliated to Fudan University, jointly constructed and managed by Fudan University and Yangpu District, a school under the nine-year compulsory education system, opened on April 23. The Work Conference of the Second School Affiliated to Fudan University on New-semester Reopening Preparations was held concurrently to make arrangements for preventing the epidemic after reopening, improving teaching quality and building a good school at doorsteps of ordinary people.

Jiao Yang, Party Secretary of Fudan University; and Xie Jian'gang, Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee attended the conference and delivered speeches. Zhou Yaming, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Fudan University, hosted the conference. Xue Kan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Head of Yangpu District; Wang Hao, Deputy Head of Yangpu District; and Shao Zhiyong, Second Class Counsel of Yangpu District were present.

The construction of Jiangwan Campus is a major livelihood project concerning teaching and administrative staff, as well as the people around, said Jiao. The opening of the new campus marks that Yangpu and Fudan have taken an encouraging step in deepening the connection between basic education and higher education and boosting regional economic and social development. We should conduct epidemic prevention and control, to ensure the health and safety of teachers and students; should stick to the bottom line of "peaceful campus and clean groups", further improve and refine plans, prepare targeted and operable countermeasures, tighten personnel and site management, and implement emergency plans; should go all out for education and teaching, and perfectly fulfill teaching tasks in this semester; should give classified guidance and take targeted measures, optimize teaching plans and review plans for students in the graduating class after their return, and strengthen care and counseling for them; should make great efforts to accurately connect online and offline teaching for students in other grades about to return; should further tap the advantage and potential of online teaching for low-grade students that will not return temporarily; should aim far, strengthen connotative construction, and go all out to build a top public school; should lose no time in advancing the internal system construction of the school, strengthen out the management systems and operation mechanisms of the junior section and the primary section, explore innovation and achieve breakthrough in integrated curriculum construction, and endeavor to build the school into a model for district-school cooperation, a school at the doorsteps of ordinary people, as well as a school satisfying the people.

Xie hoped that the school would achieve new success. The school should give play to the unique advantage of "Fudan gene", inherit the idea of Fudan's liberal arts education, uphold the motto of "studying widely with a firm aim, inquiring with earnestness and reflecting with self-practice", achieve the goal of "giving students broader education and making students develop in an all-round and sustainable manner", build a "good school at the doorsteps of ordinary people", train a large number of students with a solid foundation of knowledge, all-round qualities, the spirit of exploration and a strong sense of responsibility, and promote the high-quality, balanced and vigorous development of Yangpu's basic education. He hoped that education cooperation would achieve new fruitful results. Yangpu should further deepen the pilot reform, further renovate and improve the co-building & management system and mechanism, explore a path for the through-training of top and innovative talents, form a talent training chain running through primary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools, led by universities, connecting universities, high schools and primary schools, and featuring the education management system reform, the curriculum training system reform and the student training mode reform as penetrating points, improve the quality of educational resources for all students, and promote the development of Fudan University Basic Education Group and Yangpu's superior educational brands. He hoped that Yangpu would open a new page for "tri-zone linkage", keep deepening the new connotation of "tri-zone linkage" and developing new fields for "tri-city integration", accelerate the construction of Fudan Innovation Corridor, further break visible and invisible walls between schools, parks and communities, and study out some targeted policy measures for unblocking technology achievement transformation in an accelerated manner, in a joint effort to achieve a dual victory in epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development.

Prior to the conference, the leaders visited the school's observation rooms, anti-epidemic supplies reserve room, junior three classrooms, canteens and cultural corridor, and inspected its reopening preparations. With an area of 38,392 square meters and a total construction scale of 49,800 square meters, Jiangwan Campus of the Second School Affiliated to Fudan University consists of the northern high school zone, the southern primary school zone and the central office zone. The main building has 5 floors on the ground and 1 floor underground.
