President Xi Jinping signed a presidential decree on September 17. Story of Yu Yi

Yu Yi, female, Han nationality, born in Shanghai in February 1929, CPC member, holds a bachelor's degree. She is Honorary President of Yangpu Senior High School, a council member of the Chinese Linguistics Society and President of the Shanghai Teaching Society. Over the 67 years, she has been committed to education and teaching reform and innovation at the forefront of basic education in Shanghai, promoted the comprehensive reform of national Chinese course teaching, edited and published Introduction to Modern Teaching and other books, been involved in the compilation of the Guidelines on the National Spirit Education of Shanghai's Students, mobilized a multitude of young teachers, been reputed as "a model for education and a banner in teaching reform", and enjoyed great influence in the history of basic education reform and development. She was listed among China's first special-class teachers in 1978, won titles such as "Shanghai Model Worker", "National Advanced Worker", "National Woman Pacesetter" and "National Education Model", and won the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Shanghai's Educational Cause and the title of "Reform Pioneer" in 2018.
