The AI Forum of the 7th Baosteel Biennial Academic Conference (BAC 2018) was held in Blink on November 1. Central Research Institute - Baodi Assets Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Application United Studio was inaugurated. The studio aims to build an intelligent manufacturing platform to create new driving forces for corporate development.

With the theme "Intelligence, Interconnection, Future", the forum discussed how to closely integrate technology innovation with industrial application and how AI better serves life, cities and industries in the technological change-AI. The forum was hosted by China Baowu and the Yangpu District People's Congress, and organized by the Science and Technology Commission of Yangpu District, the Yangpu Investment Promotion Office, Baosteel and Baodi Assets.

At the forum, Li Yueqi, Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee; Zhang Jin'gang, Vice President of China Baowu; Xu Zhonghua, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of China Construction Bank; Zhang Ying, Chief Engineer of the Shanghai Economy and Information Technology Commission; and Song Yang, Deputy Chief of the Division of High Technology Industrialization, Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality jointly inaugurated the studio.

To build an AI cooperation & exchange platform, and promote the integrated development of Ai and technical innovation, China Baowu Central Research Institute established Baodi Assets Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Application United Studio in Blink. The establishment of the studio marks the deep integration of "internet + advanced manufacturing + AI" with traditional manufacturing, as well as a firm step of China Baowu in its transformation and upgrading. The studio will inject new driving force into the innovative development of the enterprise.

In an interview, Zhang Qunliang, Director of the Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing, China Baowu Central Research Institute said that the steel industry would take off under the drive of big data, cloud computing, AI and other technologies. Whether in computing power or in data accumulation, the soil of AI has formed and conditions have been met to improve products in economic ways. Baodi Assets Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Application United Studio aims to build a platform, seek partners, integrate resources and explore the prospect for development.

At the forum, AI experts from renowned domestic and foreign enterprises and research institutes like Microsoft, Baidu, Synopsys and Siemens delivered keynote speeches under the theme of the forum. They focused on advanced AI technologies, as well as the trends of AI industrialization and commercialization, paid attention to AI applications in fields such as intelligent manufacturing, chip, finance, city and transportation, paid attention to AI-driven industry upgrading, explored the boundaries of AI, and interpreted the direction of AI development along with scholars, enterprises and investors.

Besides, the exhibition zone presented a clear picture of the current situation of Yangpu's AI industry through a map featuring Yangpu's AI industry, showcasing outstanding results of Yangpu's enterprises in AI exploration, research, development and application. Five representative AI enterprises in Yangpu: Qianxun SI, UCloud, Artosyn, Michi and Roadefend presented road shows.

As another important industrial event organized by Blink after Shanghai Session of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Week, the forum marks a good start for the future development of the AI industry in the park, and a new landmark will be added to Yangpu's AI industry map.
