On November 27, the finals and closing ceremony of "Create and Gather in Digital Yangpu, Share Wisdom in Wujiaochang" - Shanghai Yangpu 2024 Wujiaochang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at Fudan University School of Management. Ni Bing, Member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee and Executive Deputy District Mayor, and Jin Lili, Member of the Party Leadership Group of Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Bureau and Director of Xinhua News Agency News Information Center Shanghai Center, attended the event. Over 100 guests, including leaders from Fudan University School of Management, relevant commissions, offices and bureaus of the district, dual innovation schools of universities, entrepreneurship service institutions, financial institutions, and representatives of the contestants, participated in this event.

As one of the most influential dual innovation competitions in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, the 2024 Wujiaochang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition kicked off at the end of August this year. Rooted in "Yangshupu", covering the Yangtze River Delta, and radiating both at home and abroad, the competition attracted over 200 projects from Europe, the United States, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, as well as from 10 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China. After fierce competitions in the preliminary, semi-final and final rounds, and multiple rounds of screening by industry experts, 4 projects were finally selected as "Entrepreneurship Rising Star Award", 4 projects as "Entrepreneurship Rising Star Nomination Award", and 20 projects as "Entrepreneurship Sprout Award".

At the closing ceremony, Ni Bing, Member of the Standing Committee of the Yangpu District Committee and Executive Deputy District Mayor, presented the awards to the winning teams of the "Entrepreneurship Rising Star Award", the most valuable award in this competition.

Jin Lili, Member of the Party Leadership Group of Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Bureau and Director of Xinhua News Agency News Information Center Shanghai Center, presented the awards to the winning teams of the "Entrepreneurship Rising Star Nomination Award".

Cai Donghai, Director of the Entrepreneurship Guidance Division of the Shanghai Employment Promotion Center, presented the awards to the "Outstanding Entrepreneurship Service Institutions".

Zheng Fei, Secretary of the District Committee of the Communist Youth League, and Yang Jufang, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the District Investment Service Development Center, presented the "Entrepreneurship Sprout Award" to 20 dual innovation teams from universities.

On-site, Qin Heng, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the People's Congress Working Committee of Wujiaochang Street, delivered a speech.

Through 3 months of series of events and competition training camps, many participating teams were attracted by Yangpu's innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises and excellent business environment. The ceremony also held a signing ceremony for the intention of participating projects to settle in Yangpu. Chen Bolin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Office of Wujiaochang Street, signed the letter of intent for projects to settle in Yangpu with representatives of 4 participating projects from the enterprise group and 4 from the university group.

At the closing ceremony, entrepreneurship service institutions and relevant departments of Wujiaochang Street also introduced and provided professional insights on relevant enterprise benefit policies and service measures of Yangpu District to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

Representatives of the projects that entered the finals from the university group and enterprise group shared their stories on the path of innovation and entrepreneurship, and expressed their high recognition of Yangpu's business environment and the competition organization level.

2024 marks the fifth anniversary of the proposal of the People's City concept, and also another important milestone in Yangpu District's innovation and development journey. Since 2016, the 8 sessions of Wujiaochang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition have attracted more than 2,200 enterprises and projects, with over 100,000 online and offline participants, and more than 400 participating enterprises and high-quality projects have settled in Yangpu. This competition set up new special tracks such as "Green and Low-Carbon" and "Artificial Intelligence", conducted competition training camps by groups, and for the first time established a Yangtze River Delta special event at Anhui University. More than 30 meticulously planned and wonderful events presented high-quality participating projects, demonstrated high-level event organization, set off a warm business environment, and injected new momentum into strengthening, supplementing and consolidating the industrial chain.
