This area will gradually form an industry cluster dominated by the digital economy and scientific and technological innovation research and development, injecting new momentum into the economic development of Shanghai and even the whole country.

As the place where the People's City concept was first proposed, our district is Shanghai's central urban area with the largest area and population. The 15.5-kilometer-long riverside shoreline has created a 60.61-square-kilometer land of our district.

At present, our district is striving to build a "1+2+3+4" innovation-oriented modern industrial system with the digital economy as the core dominant, "intelligent +" and "Internet +" as basic support, three hundred-billion clusters and four emerging fields as development focus.

Recently, Xue Kan, Secretary of the Yangpu District Committee of the Communist Party of China, pointed out in an exclusive interview with People's Daily Online that over the years, as an important carrier of Shanghai's science and technology innovation center, our district has deeply implemented the innovation-driven development strategy and embarked on a path of transformation and upgrading from "Industrial Yangpu" to "Innovative Yangpu." It has become one of the first national innovation-oriented urban areas, an important carrier of Shanghai's science and technology innovation center, a pilot urban area for "Science and Technology Innovation China," and a national innovation-driven demonstration zone. Now, after 20 years of innovation and transformation, our district, named after "Yangshupu," has entered the stage of "innovation development restarting."

In our district, a large number of high-level knowledge achievements are constantly emerging, accelerating their transformation into cutting-edge technologies and innovative products. They have also given birth to a batch of new-generation unicorns, invisible champions, and little giant enterprises in the fields of Internet, artificial intelligence, creative design, green and low-carbon, and life and health, many of which have gone abroad and entered the international market.

A set of data is sufficient to demonstrate the strength: At present, our district has gathered 7,000 digital economy enterprises, with the district-level tax revenue accounting for more than 30% and the revenue accounting for more than 50%.

From "Yangshupu" to "Digital Yangpu," there is a difference of one character. It can be said that Yangpu's digital economy has accumulated momentum.
