Yangpu Riverside now shapes aspirations from a child's onemeter viewpoint. Stretching 5.5 kilometers along Yangshupu Road, from Qinhuangdao Road to Guiyang Road, this premium waterfront corridor has evolved into an iconic world-class children's social venue.
The transformation of Yangpu's 5.5-kilometer riverside belt into an integrated child-growth friendly zone has been included in the First Catalogue of Replicable Experiences for Building Child-Friendly Urban Spaces jointly issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the General Office of National Development and Reform Commission, and the Office of National Working Committee on Women and Children under State Council.

Nestled within this nationally accredited benchmark area for child-friendly urban construction, the Spring Bud Child-Friendly Reading Space holds exceptional symbolic and practical value. Blending heritage preservation, digital empowerment and green ecology, it revitalizes old industrial structures into warm, safe, fun spaces tailored for young users.
By linking up the waterfront corridors of the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek, it will extend premium literary experiences to communities where children live and grow.

A head of the Office of the Yangpu District Working Committee on Women and Children noted that the Spring Bud Child-Friendly Reading Space will break the limits of conventional book libraries. Designed for modern youth, it pioneers creative integration across culture, technology and public services.
Illustrating its blueprint at the event, the official emphasized that Yangpu's holistic child-friendly development centers entirely on refined public services for youngsters. Embedding the Spring Bud brand within the new Shanghai International Child-Friendly Center elevates Yangpu's child service ecosystem to a higher, more distinctive level.

"Moving far beyond conventional reading experiences," the official explained, "this uniquely waterfront-themed space will feature innovative layouts empowered by AI and advanced multimedia. It'll host writer lectures and science outreach programs, encouraging children to create interactively from what they read. More than a cultural haven for Shanghai's youngsters, it'll showcase China's progress in children's literature and facilitate international cultural exchanges."

Bridging diverse fields with literary charm, the debut of the Spring Bud Child-Friendly Reading Space embodies Yangpu's commitment to the people-centered city vision and refined cultural upgrading. May every budding young reader flourish, nourished by tenderness, companionship and inspiration.
