As part of "Rendez-vous 2024 avec la Chambre de commerce Suisse-Shanghai à Yangpu", the Symposium with the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) recently took place at the Yangpu Investment Promotion Office. Among attendees were representatives from the United Front Work Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee, the Yangpu Commission of Commerce, the Yangpu Science, Technology and Economy Commission, the Yangpu Culture and Tourism Administration, the Yangpu Health Commission, the Yangpu Investment Service Development Center (YISDC) and the Third Branch of YISDC, along with Hugo Schuwey, Head of Rechthalten, Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland; Lv Tao, President of SCCC; and Phlipp Broch, President of Alma Packaging AG. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on Swiss companies' investment in China, technological innovation exchanges and tourism cooperation. This event has deepened mutual understanding and laid the groundwork for future win-win cooperation.

At the symposium, Shen Xin, Director of YISDC, introduced the overall economic and industrial development of Yangpu. The United Front Work Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee, the Yangpu Commission of Commerce, the Yangpu Science, Technology and Economy Commission, the Yangpu Culture and Tourism Administration, and the Yangpu Health Commission provided insights into foreign business cooperation, foreign investment, technological innovation advancements, tourism resources, and the development of the life and health industry chain in Yangpu. Hugo Schuwey, Head of Rechthalten, Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland, presented an overview of Rechthalten. Joerg Dockendorf, Managing Director of Alma Packaging AG, introduced the company's development in Europe and expressed his aspiration to invest and operate in Shanghai. The Global Pulmonary Health Center, Swiss Import Intelligent Air Purification Systems and Zhenggu (Shanghai) Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. introduced their respective business development and investment prospects. Then, the two sides discussed project implementation, industrial development and cooperation opportunities.

YISDC organized and accompanied the SCCC delegation on a tour of Yangpu Riverside's construction outcomes and visits to SeouLeaguer, Meituan Center, EVIS Technology and Bilibili Headquarters. Lv Tao, President of SCCC, said that these companies not only have the distinctive industrial features of Yangpu, but also are related to Swiss industrial sectors. He praised Yangpu's economic construction for its emphasis on technological innovation, the establishment of a sound corporate service system, and the creation of a vibrant ecosystem encompassing startups, SMEs and corporate headquarters. SCCC will further leverage it role as an investment partner for Yangpu, to promote cooperation and exchanges between Yangpu and Switzerland in various aspects, and to attract more Swiss companies to invest in Yangpu.
