Changhai Road Sub-district Organizes Event Themed "City Walk: Discovering the Changhai 'Fragrance of Books' Self-Governance Circle" October 28,2024
Recently, the Wenhua Jiayuan Community Neighborhood Center of Changhai Road Sub-district organized a special event themed "City Walk: Discovering the Changhai 'Fragrance of Books' Self-Governance Circle". Residents were invited to form a team to walk into the community, exploring the Changhai "Fragrance of Books" Self-Governance Circle through a city walk. The aim was to learn about and experience self-organized and self-managed community self-governance projects and their outcomes within the Changhai "Fragrance of Books" Self-Governance Circle.
The community self-governance exploration journey kicked off at Haishang Shuohecheng Community. The "City Walk" team admired the community's picturesque public spaces and explored the "beautiful corridors" within the buildings. They saw notice boards in each building with the slogan "Strive to be a civilized neighbor, share a harmonious community", which featured information bulletins and resident protocols. These boards not only provided practical information for residents but also encouraged the adoption of civilized practices and the cultivation of a harmonious community spirit. Many participants in the event found this approach to be commendable and worth emulating.
Then, the team made their way to Xianggeliyuan Community. There, the "Super Moms" community self-governance organization, which is based on mothers, told their story of stepping out from picture books and engage in activities such as shared reading clubs and study tours. These efforts are aimed at cultivating children's reading habits and expanding their horizons. They also shared their experience in community self-governance, demonstrating how community self-governance can enhance community life. The team delivered books from the "Drifting Library" of the Wenhua Jiayuan Community Neighborhood Center, to spread the fragrance of books throughout Changhai.
The event concluded at the Wenhua Jiayuan Community Neighborhood Center, where residents experienced the "Micro Garden" self-governance project, each adding their own touch to the micro garden and collectively creating the book of self-governance unique to Changhai.
"The event was rich in content and very meaningful. Community self-governance is not about working behind closed doors; it involves absorbing and summarizing the work experience of neighbors and applying it flexibly. Together, we can build our community better and better," said resident Ms. Chen delightedly.
Looking ahead, the Wenhua Jiayuan Community Neighborhood Center will continue to uphold the concept that "a city built by the people should serve the people", striving to elevate community governance to greater heights and to constantly enhance the happiness and satisfaction of community residents.
