As of midnight on September 24, 2025, Yangpu District is rolling out smart fee management for 5 roadside parking lots within the Inner Ring Road and 13 lots in the area between the Inner and Outer Ring Roads.

The municipal and district traffic police departments have mapped out the details of these 18 new smart parking spots as shown in the table below. Check it out!

The fee standards and charging rules for the city's smart parking lots, set by the municipal pricing and finance departments (see table below), apply to the new 5 lots inside the Inner Ring Road and 13 lots between the Inner and Outer Ring Roads as follows:

1. Daytime and nighttime hours are based on the posted times on the parking fee signs. 2. After the first hour, each extra 30 minutes counts as one extra charge. If it is under 30 minutes, you will still be charged for a full 30 minutes.

Parking Tips for Smart Roadside Parking Lots

1. Check the fee signs at both ends of the parking lot for parking times, fees, and billing rules. You can also get this info on the "Shanghai Parking" APP.

2. Smart parking lots near your home offer "off-peak sharing" with monthly fees. This covers nights on workdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Check the "Shanghai Parking" APP for details. To sign up, just open the app, tap "Off-Peak Sharing", pick "Roadside Parking Lot", and choose a nearby spot.

3. When you leave a smart parking lot, use the "Shanghai Parking" APP to check and pay your fee. If you get a payment reminder text, you have 15working days to pay via the app or ask a parking attendant at any lot in the city. Got problems with the bill? Call the lot's supervision phone number on the app, or file an online appeal. We will check your parking details and get back to you.

4. If you do not pay up on time, we will follow the rules to chase the unpaid fees. If you refuse to pay the parking fee, the law enforcement department may penalize you in accordance with theMeasures for Parking Lot (Garage) Administration in Shanghai.

5. To get timely and accurate text alerts, log in to the "Shanghai Parking" APP and update your license plate and phone number. For your personal information and fund security, download the app via the QR code or a trusted app store, instead of through third-party payment platforms.
