After six months of construction, Baiyangdian Road (from Changyang Road to Shunping Road) was officially opened to traffic at midnight on January 25. This road serves as a north-south branch road in the northeastern part of Dinghai Community, stretching 301 meters from Changyang Road in the south to Shunping Road in the north. It features a two-way dual-lane layout. Nearby facilities include Baiyangdian Football Field, Subway Line 12 Aiguo Road Station, and Yangpu Binjiang Experimental Primary School Affiliated to Shanghai Normal University.

The road primarily radiates two large relocation residential areas, Zhonghuan Herunyuan and Zhonghuan Heleyuan, both of which are densely populated and have significant travel demands. Previously, the only access to these areas was a narrow, 3-meter-wide temporary passage that was not suitable for motor vehicles. As a result, residents who needed to commute or go to school had to take a detour via major roads such as Jungong Road and Zhoujiazui Road, which added approximately 1 kilometer to their journey. To address these public concerns, the Baiyangdian Road (from Changyang Road to Shunping Road) construction project was designated as a key project and a people's livelihood project in Yangpu in 2024.

With the support of Dinghai Road Sub-district, the Yangpu Traffic Police Detachment, the Yangpu Government Offices Administration, and other departments, the road construction project has progressed smoothly and been successfully completed. Once operational, Baiyangdian Road will enhance the road network of Dinghai Community, further improve the microcirculation system in the eastern area, effectively utilize surrounding resources such as sports fields, subways, and schools, and boost residents' satisfaction with their living conditions. It will also greatly enhance the travel experience of residents in nearby communities by reducing detours and saving commuting time.

We have also learned that Shunping Road (from Baiyangdian Community to Baiyangdian Road), which was constructed concurrently, has been completed and is ready for traffic. However, due to traffic safety concerns at the intersection with Jiefang Road, the original pedestrian and non-motorized vehicle passage method remains in place. Looking ahead, the Yangpu Construction and Administration Commission will work with relevant departments to develop a traffic plan before fully opening it to traffic.

In recent years, Yangpu has been working diligently to improve transportation infrastructure. It has completed the full-line upgrade of Huangxing Road, widened Jiangpu Road, and opened several urban branch roads, including Dahushan Road and Funing Road. By paying attention to both major projects and minor details, Yangpu has significantly enhanced the public's travel experience, satisfaction, and overall sense of well-being.
