Today in History丨June 11, 1945: Mao Zedong delivered a closing speech at the last meeting of the Plenary Session of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China June 11,2021

Mao Zedong delivered a closing speech at the last meeting of the Plenary Session of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He pointed out: We have had a very successful meeting. It has turned out to be a meeting of victory and unity. We have done three things: first, we have finalized the Party's line; Second, we have adopted a new Party constitution; Third, we have, through election, formed the Central Committee, the leading organ of the Party. The task ahead is to lead the whole Party to follow the Party line. Our line of the meeting is to build up the confidence among the Party and the whole nation that the revolution will eventually succeed. First of all, we should let the vanguard realize it and make up its mind to win victory against all odds. Mao Zedong encouraged the whole Party with the fable of How Yugong Moved the Mountains to continue to lead the Chinese people in getting rid of the two “mountains” of imperialism and feudalism. Mao's closing speech, titled How Yugong Moved the Mountains, was included in The Selected Works of Mao Zedong (Volume III).
