The fourth Reading Contest in the Theme of “Poetic Dinghai" Held in Yangpu District March 26,2018

The series of activities on “Cultural Service Day" during the 2018 Shanghai Citizens Art Festival were held on March 25 at the Cultural Center of Dinghai Road Community.

Focusing on reading classics and reviewing the history of Dinghai Community, the fourth Reading Contest in the Theme of "Poetic Dinghai" was also held.

Reading classics and reviewing the history of Dinghai Community

Through early promotion and mobilization, more than 50 groups of people from all walks of life were  chosen, including children aged 6 to 7, elders and young people who love reading aloud. The contest was held in two sessions: the morning preliminary contest and the afternoon final.

On the basis of advocating reading Chinese classics in the past, this year's contest encourages contestants to select articles on Dinghai's humanities, architecture and history. The contestants carefully prepared, arranged the formation and made the score, bringing everyone a wonderful performance with their own characteristics. In the course of the contest, the “Dinghai people" also enthusiastically wrote poems with their love and gratitude for Dinghai community.

In order to highlight the professionalism of the contest, the event specially invited the teachers from Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Tongji University, and East China Normal University as judges.

They assessed the contestants in terms of material selection, performance, score and so on, and improved the contestants' understanding of the works and the recitation.

Finally, Lu Menghan from Pingsi Primary School and Li Ruixin and Wu Jianjun from Pingsan Primary School won the first prize in the contest.

The annual "Poetic Dinghai" Reading Contest" aims to tap community residents, young white-collar workers and students who love reading, strengthen the cultural development in the region through the contest so that everyone can feel the classics and deepen their understanding and recognition of the traditional Chinese culture in the process of reading the classics. Additionally, it is hoped that community residents in Dinghai love this land, discover the truth, goodness and beauty of Dinghai in their lives, listen to the harmonious sound of Dinghai and understand the historical changes of Dinghai.
