On March 25, the 2018 Shanghai Citizens Art Festival in the theme of "Culture for Better Life" kicked off. Xiong Yuezhi, former vice president of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and director of the Historical Research Institute, Huang Changyong, director of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Chen Sihe, director of Fudan University Library and vice president of Shanghai Writers Association, Lu Jiansong, director of Fudan University's Department of Cultural Heritage and Museology, Lou Yongqi, president of Tongji University College of Design and Innovation, Cheng Bo, vice president of Shanghai Film Academy, Xia Xiaoyan, general manager of Yunfeng Capital, Li Ruixiang, vice president of Shanghai Opera House, Gao Chunming, president of Shanghai ICH Protection Association, Ding Shenyang, vice president of Shanghai Calligrapher's Association, Xuan Jiaxin, vice president of Shanghai Calligrapher's Association , Ding She, deputy secretary-general of Shanghai Artists Association, were employed as Yangpu District's cultural consultants. Liu Dongchang, member of the standing committee of the district party committee and director of the publicity department, and Xu Jianhua, deputy district chief of the Yangpu District People's Government, attended the opening ceremony of the Cultural Service Day and presented the letter of appointment to the persons employed as cultural consultants of Yangpu District.

Organization of the cultural events favored by the citizens

On "Cultural Service Day", Yangpu District launched 66 key cultural service projects in all public cultural places in the region. Among the key cultural service programs of the "cultural service day", there are performances by Yangpu District's top 100 riverside teams, spring health lectures, green parent-child special events, unique percussion music, spring tea taste experience activities and so on, each with its own characteristics and splendor. Yangpu planned to launch 353 key cultural events throughout the spring culture festival. The planning and organization of all activities are based on the "massive cultural research" of Yangpu District, which not only reflects the concept of "providing cultural feast favored by the people", but also actively serves Yangpu District's citizens to cultivate their morality and jointly promote the creation of a new round of civilized urban areas in the country. Yangpu District will join hands with cultural enterprises, literary and art institutions and organizations to become a good cultural service operator for the people.

Improvement of Village Service

In order to accomplish cultural activities benefiting the people, Yangpu District actively implemented the municipal government's practical project “improvement of comprehensive cultural activity rooms in villages" this year, and included 243 comprehensive cultural activity rooms in the list of the first batch of tasks.

The region's 12 sub-districts (towns) fully tap cultural resources, build "beautiful homeland" and jointly invest in creating a cultural paradise for the residents of Yangpu District. Yangpu District Culture Bureau will distribute more than 1,000 cultural service projects for the comprehensive cultural activity rooms of the neighborhood committee in 2018 and hundreds of public welfare films for the 60 cultural activity rooms that meet the standards. By joint efforts in the whole region, more citizens will get easy access to cultural activities benefiting the people.

Active part played by all cultural talents

The contingent of cultural talents is the main body of cultural development and the cornerstone of the continuous impetus for cultural development. Yangpu District Branch of Shanghai Youth Calligraphy Committee, the city's first base of "educating people with culture and practicing calligraphy with morality", was unveiled at the event with the support of the Shanghai Calligrapher's Association.

Under the care and guidance of the Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio and Television, Yangpu District Party Committee and the district government, Yangpu District Culture Bureau actively explored the development of Yangpu District Culture Talent Pool, and has made initial achievements in the development of Culture Talent Pool and compiled the "Culture Talent List in Yangpu District of Shanghai (2017 Edition)" through more than a year's efforts including detailed investigation, proper formulation of programs, comprehensive mobilization, extensive publicity, collection and review of data.

They are not only supported by famous artists, but also the enthusiastic participation of a large number of outstanding young cultural talents in the six categories of cultural industries such as news publishing and distribution services, radio and television film services, cultural and artistic services, cultural creativity and design services, cultural leisure and entertainment services, and arts and crafts production.

On-line and off-line organization of the event

In order to tie in with the "Cloud Citizens Art Festival” launched this year by the Shanghai Citizens Art Festival and give full play to the advantages of the cloud platform such as fast transmission, wide radiation, freedom, convenience and direct access to terminals, Yangpu District launched the official micro-platform of Yangpu District's cultural cloud, based on "Internet plus Public Culture" and pushing more cultural services and information to citizens through the network O2O.

Citizens can visit "Yangpu District Culture" WeChat and access Yangpu District Culture Cloud with one click, so as to realize online access to the library collection status, online book borrowing by O2O in the book circle, online registration for cultural activities, online access to cultural venues, access to the city's cultural calendar, understand various museums in Yangpu and read stories about the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. In this way, we will create an open festival and internet festival mode, and realize all-weather public cultural services that are online, present and broadcast.

National Anthem Exhibition Hall

Citizens spontaneously visited “the national backbone of the vanguard of the times", a special photo exhibition commemorating Tian Han's 120th birthday.

On March 25, the public came to the temporal booth of the National Anthem Exhibition Hall to visit the “national backbone of the vanguard of the times" - a special photo exhibition commemorating Tian Han's 120th birthday. The exhibition is divided into seven parts: "holding a lantern and reading a book", "who is the most promising young man  in the world", "making a standard in the south", "making a pioneer for the times", "bringing a long tassel to the song", "beating a whip for the light" and "being faithful to the world today". Through many precious photos with great historical value and representative works of Tian Han's life, the exhibition comprehensively reviews Tian Han's life story and creation achievements, as well as his outstanding contribution to the nation and literature and art under the leadership of the Party.

It is reported that this exhibition will be on display in the temporal booth of the National Anthem Exhibition Hall until April 20, and later will be accompanied by the Shanghai Opera House's “song of the nation" musical to carry out a national tour and tour in Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong, Liaoning and other places.

During the lecture, the video of the film festival related to “the Belt and Road Initiative", and the film “The Shape of Water", which won many Oscar awards this year, were showed. The combination of audio-visual programs has deeply impressed the readers.

On the afternoon of March 25, Mr. Huang Xiangong was invited by the Shanghai Boya Pulpit sponsored by Yangpu District Culture Bureau and Shanghai Book Company and organized by Yangpu Library to explain the historical origin, historical value and significance of the bookplate in the theme of Don Quixote.

On the evening of March 25, Yangpu Library's music popularization activity -“Yue Yin Shu Hua" -took its debut of the year. In 2018, “Yue Yin Shu Hua" launched a series of music promotion activities based on the theme of "the art of sound". This event, in the theme of "the origin of sound", from Gregory chant to Bach and Handel, led readers into the world of sacred and melodious sound and sharing the beauty of music.
