On the morning of April 20, the Center Group of the CPC Yangpu District Committee held a workshop on Party history study and education, inviting Prof. Mei Lihong, Director of Education at the Party School of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and a member of the Expert Lecture Mission on Party History Study and Education under the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, to give a lecture entitled "Learning Party History in Depth, Further Strengthening the Unity and Unified Leadership of the Party". Xie Jian'gang, Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee, chaired the meeting and delivered a speech.

Present were members of Yangpu's four leading bodies, including Wei Weiming, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Yangpu District People's Congress and Tai Xun, Chairman of the CPPCC Yangpu District Committee. Deng Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee; and Cheng Xiuming, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee delivered speeches.

Based on the CPC's history of a century and rich historical events, Mei elaborated on the unity and unified leadership of the Party, and narrated the Party's major moves to ensure the authority of the CPC Central Committee, the Party's unity and unified leadership since the 18th CPC National Congress. The lecture, which explained the profound in simple terms, is of great guiding significance to fully implementing the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and promoting the high-quality development of Party history study and education.

Being more conscious in terms of thinking, being more forceful in terms of action, being stricter in terms of self-discipline

Xie noted that the unity of thinking, political solidarity and the concert of action are fundamental to the constant development of the Party's cause. We should rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core, be more conscious in terms of thinking, be more forceful in terms of action and be stricter in terms of self-discipline, and accelerate the building of a high-standard practice area for people's city building, a high-level leading area for technology innovation, a high-level pilot area for social governance and a high-quality area for ecology-life integration, to meet the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC with outstanding results.

Being more conscious in terms of thinking

We should keep improving our political judgment, political comprehension and political execution, fully implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction of "four understandings", further enhance the consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership, stay confident in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, maintain a high degree of alignment with the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core in terms of thinking, political orientation and actions, be fully and persistently loyal to the Party, think and act in the same way, unify knowledge with action, never change our mind or ideals, and maintain integrity.

Being more forceful in terms of action

We should draw the tremendous strength of practice from the extraordinary history of the Party, further strengthen the impetus to forge ahead in unity, always take working hard as our mission, responsibility and value, continue to promote the "four-dare spirit", overcome all difficulties, roll up our sleeves for development, go all out for construction, devote ourselves to improving the people's livelihood, and work hard to turn the blueprint into good reality and the vision into a vivid picture, to live up to the great trust of the organization, the people's expectations and the great era.

Being stricter in terms of self-discipline

We should give higher priority to the exercise of full and rigorous governance over the Party, take upholding democratic centralism as an important key to ensuring the unity and centralized leadership of the Party, further foster the courage of self-revolution, the sense of responsibility and the principle of integrity, strictly implement democratic centralism, stick to the principle of organization, enhance the awareness of organization, observe the system of organization and keep to "four compliances". We should strengthen the rigidity of discipline, put discipline and rules first, prevent "seven evil practices", firmly manage "five musts", and keep consolidating the clean working atmosphere of Yangpu with awe-inspiring righteousness.

Among over 140 attendees were heads of district departments, commissions, offices and bureaus, the special committees under the Yangpu District People's Congress and the CPPCC Yangpu District Committee, sub-districts, mass organizations and district enterprises.
