Interactive Experience

Holographic projection, infrared interaction, AI and other cutting-edge digital technologies offered the campers a dynamic and awe-inspiring visual experience. Here, they gained a fresh perspective from the stories of China's development, especially its fruitful results in skills development and innovation.

Strolling along the 5.5-kilometer Yangpu Binjiang waterfront, the youth engaged in lively conversations, soaking in the blend of old and new, the essence of Shanghai's style, and the fusion of fashion and art in the life belt of Yangpu during the summer walk.

To foreigners, Yangpu is like a new world! It's a place everyone is sure to fall in love with.

"This is a city perfect for living! I believe everyone will fall in love with it!"

15-year-old Martin from Chile, reflecting on his first visit to China, expressed his fondness, "Shanghai is a very beautiful city, looking especially stunning regardless of the weather." He hoped to invite more friends to China in the future to experience the charm of this vibrant city.

"This design is absolutely fantastic! From the outside, it looks like a 'wooden box', but I was amazed to find an underground level inside. This is my first time seeing such architecture—it's truly breathtaking!"

The Italian girl Rosa was particularly impressed by the Yangpu Binjiang People's City Construction Planning Exhibition Hall, which resembles a semi-hollow "wooden box" in appearance. This lively young girl was experiencing Shanghai for the first time, and her adventures in exploring exhibitions, visiting the WorldSkills Museum, and engaging in the citywalk with her peers offered her a fresh experience of the charm of Chinese culture and Shanghai.

"It's like stepping into a new world! Strolling in Binjiang, every view is picturesque and every step reveals a new scene. Here, I can feel the rapid development of China."

Dorina, who has been studying Chinese for 12 years, is from Hungary. Fluent in Chinese, she is a student at Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School, the only public full-time school in Central and Eastern Europe that teaches in both Chinese and the local language. This was Dorina's third visit to China, and her first encounter with Yangpu Binjiang captivated her with its stunning landscape and skyscrapers. "I'll be reporting to Peking University at the end of August. I'm thrilled to be studying in China, and I'm grateful for my parents' support in my Chinese studies! My friends are envious, admiring my parents' foresight."

The Shanghai International Youth Interactive Friendship Camp, hosted by the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Shanghai Youth Federation, and organized by the Shanghai Youth Center, has been held for 18 editions. Looking ahead, the camp aims to further strengthen interactions and communication among young people from different countries, cement emotional ties and enhance the friendship between Chinese and foreign people.
