3rd Australia-China International Youth "Shanghai through the World's Eyes" Study Tour in Yangpu July 16,2024

Recently, with the support of Australian community leaders, including Bian Jun, Honorary Advisor of the Yangpu Overseas Friendship Association and President of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce in Sydney, nearly 40 Australian youths involved in the 3rd Australia-China International Youth "Shanghai through the World's Eyes" Study Tour explored the history and development of Shanghai and Yangpu. They visited high-tech digital economy companies in Shanghai and Yangpu, and experienced the unique cultural environment of Shanghai through a combination of study, travel, observation and listening.

The students visited B·Link, witnessing the economic and social development of Yangpu; they strolled along Yangpu Riverside, reflecting on the determination of China's advanced intellectuals to seek revolutionary truths globally at the "Start of Mission" relief wall; they toured Shanghai Luoman Technologies Inc., experiencing the charm and quality of Shanghai through light and shadow; they visited Papergames Technology, witnessing the fusion of digital technology with traditional Chinese aesthetics; they explored the Yangpu Binjiang People's City Construction Planning Exhibition Hall, directly sensing the changes of Yangpu and the vitality of the life belt in Riverside; and they visited the WorldSkills Museum, exploring the past, present and future of the world's skills from traditional crafts to cutting-edge technologies.

On July 14, invited by Shanghai Rongqingtang Industrial Development Co., Ltd., the students visited the Rongqingtang TCM Cultural Center and Sachet Crafting Heritage Base. Through learning and interaction, they experienced the charm of intangible cultural heritage such as sachet making, TCM techniques, Shanghai dough modeling, halal refreshments, Shanghai traditional chanting art and making of Chinese knot buttons, effectively enhancing the understanding of fine Chinese traditional culture among Australian Chinese youth. Dong Xinwang, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Chairman of the Yangpu Overseas Friendship Association, attended the event.

The diverse visits and studies allowed the students to truly experience the concentration of the online new economy in Yangpu, the assembly of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, the colorful urban development, the boundless potential for future growth and the profound historical heritage of fine Chinese traditional culture.
