On June 27, Yeidckol Polevnsky Gurwitz, President of the Mexico-China Friendship Group of the Mexican Federal Chamber of Deputies, led a delegation on a visit to Yangpu. They, immersed in the historical legacy of a century-old industrial civilization, experienced the unique charm of Yangpu as a people's city, and explored a new chapter for the new high-quality development of China-Mexico economic and trade cooperation. Present were Sherry Almag, Vice Chairman of the Mexican National Chamber of Manufacturing Industries; President Zhou Danjin and Vice President Xue Feng of Huawei Latin America. Xue Kan, Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee; Cheng Xiuming, Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Yangpu District People's Congress; and Ni Bing, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Executive Deputy Head of Yangpu District accompanied the visitors.

The delegation visited the Yangpu Binjiang People's City Building Planning & Exhibition Hall and the "Ren Ren Wu" Party-Mass Service Center, and took a walk along the shoreline of Yangpu Binjiang. They gained a deep understanding of the exploration and practice of the concept of people's city. They fully affirmed Yangpu's efforts on the scientific transformation of the Binjiang public space, transforming from an industrial belt into a life belt and a development belt.

Xue introduced the economic and social development of Yangpu, saying that Mexico, as the second-largest economy in Latin America, is advanced in manufacturing and financial development in the region, and has maintained strong development momentum. In recent years, the strategic, complementary and mutually beneficial nature of China-Mexico relations has become increasingly evident. Shanghai sees immense potential for cooperation with Mexico. To expand cooperation and exchanges in trade, culture and other fields with Mexico, a delegation from Yangpu visited Mexico in May and was warmly welcomed by President Polevnsky and the Mexican National Chamber of Manufacturing Industries. The two sides had friendly and amicable discussions, and reached broad cooperation intentions. Today, President Polevnsky's visit to Yangpu is a journey to deepen friendship and practical cooperation. Yangpu is eager to work with the broad community of friends represented by Madam President, as well as the Mexican government, businesses, universities and non-governmental organizations, aiming to accelerate the implementation of various cooperation projects, stimulate more direct investment between companies from both sides, enhance trade in goods and services, and foster technological innovation cooperation. Yangpu is also keen to develop friendly relations, deepen cultural exchanges, and share the experience of building a people's city with Mexican cities.

Polevnsky expressed her delight at reuniting with old friends at beautiful Yangpu Riverside, marveling at the economic and social development of Yangpu and the level of people's city building. The Mexico-China Friendship Group of the Mexican Federal Chamber of Deputies will serve as a link for stronger ties between Mexico and Yangpu, fostering cultural exchanges in a broader range, and promoting industrial cooperation in more sectors.
