College Students from St. Petersburg Gain Lot in Yangpu May 06,2024
Bi Sheng Workshop is an international Chinese language and skills training program offered by Shanghai Publishing and Printing College (SPPC) under the "Belt and Road" initiative. The program aims to train professionals that know both Chinese and technologies for the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road". Recently, the workshop trained students from St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design (SUTD), and after one month of intensive training, these students completed their studies successfully.
Music goes beyond national borders and becomes an invisible bond. At the completion ceremony of Bi Sheng Workshop Chinese & Skills 2024, the students from SUTD expressed their gratitude with a Russian folk song. Over the past month, they learned Chinese, as well as printing and publishing skills, and visited attractions in Shanghai, gaining a lot from the trip. Diana, a student from SUTD, told us that they learned 3D technology, animation and Photoshop in Shanghai which they had not covered in Russia yet.
We learned that, SPPC established Bi Sheng Workshop in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in a cooperative way in 2019 and 2023 respectively, to offer training in Chinese and skills. With the theme of appreciating the beauty of Chinese and promoting skills, the program has trained thousands of professionals that know both advanced technologies and Chinese culture for the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".
While sharing the brilliant outcomes of China's vocational publishing and printing education with the world, this program has spread Chinese publishing and printing culture, promoted people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries, and played an exemplary role in practicing the Shanghai mode of taking fine Chinese China to the world and showing the bright prospect of Chinese modernization, according to Wang Dan, Director of the International Exchange Office of SPPC.
The one-month "Chinese & skills" training for the 20 students from SUTD covered Chinese, traditional Chinese culture, 3D modeling, VR production, stop-motion animation production, etc.
The completion ceremony not only represented the successful conclusion of the training program, but also showed the fusion of the two countries in terms of culture and skills education, and marked new substantial advances in the promotion of the "Belt and Road" initiative. The training contributed positively to international education and cultural exchanges.
