On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France, Inaugural Ceremony of Yangpu EuroCampus New Natatorium & Closing Ceremony of 2024 Championnat Asie-Pacifique Natation (CAPN 2024) was held on the morning of May 17. Present were Xue Kan, Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee; Zhou Rong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yangpu District Committee; Wang Hao, Deputy Head of Yangpu District; Joan Valadou, Consul General of France in Shanghai; Uwe Koch, Consul and Head of Cultural, Science and Technology Affairs at the Consulate General of Germany in Shanghai.

In the event, Xue, Valadou, Zhou and Koch, together with the representatives of Shanghai French School and German School Shanghai, cut the ribbon for the inaugural ceremony. The new natatorium with first-class facilities and complete functions was opened in the applause of everyone.

Addressing the ceremony, Valadou said CAPN 2024 not only created a good opportunity for teachers and students of international schools to communicate, learn and promote sportsmanship, but also further enhanced the international reputation of Yangpu EuroCampus.

In his address, Koch said Yangpu EuroCampus has its own place in Shanghai's educational sector and the new natatorium added splendor to the campus's sports facilities. He wished CAPN 2024 a complete success.

As a district of innovation and openness, Yangpu will continue to provide high-quality environmental support and services for expatriates living, studying and working in Yangpu and its neighboring areas, said Wang in his address.

CAPN 2024 attracted 8 teams from Thailand, Dubai, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, South Korea, Singapore and Australia, the teams from Shanghai French School and German School Shanghai, as well as two Chinese schools in Yangpu (Kunming School and High School Affiliated to Shanghai University of Finance and Economics), with a total of some 300 swimmers aged 9-17. As a brilliant educational brand of Yangpu, Yangpu EuroCampus, the organizer of the closing ceremony, is committed to providing welcoming and quality education services for expatriates to live and work in peace and contentment.
