On May 8th, the 12 training class of Arab officials from the China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development (ARDC) paid a visit to Yangpu Riverside. The delegation, consisting of 31 officials from 18 Arab countries and the Secretariat of the League of Arab States, had the opportunity to witness the efficacy of Shanghai's reform and development, as well as its urban governance practices.

Mr. Li Chen, Ambassador of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Qin Yifeng, Counselor of the Department of Asian and African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lin Haiping, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, and Mr. Jing Ying, Vice President of the Shanghai Friendship Association, toured Yangpu Riverside.

Starting from the Qinhuangdao Road Pier at Yangpu Riverside, the group embarked on a tour that included visits to the Rain Garden, Fisherman's Wharf, and the People's City Construction Planning Exhibition Hall. Throughout the tour, they experienced firsthand the comprehensive achievements made in Shanghai by implementing the People's City concept. During the visit, Zhou Haiying and Shi Fang engaged in discussions and exchanged views with the visitors.

The workshop participants visited the site to immerse themselves in the experience of Chinese modernization and to explore new avenues for forging a China-Arab community of shared destiny in the new era. Participants remarked that Yangpu Riverside sets a high standard for the construction of people-friendly areas. Along the way to their visit, they observed numerous residents exercising and enjoying leisure activities, which gave them a sense that the people of Shanghai lead peaceful and fulfilling lives. This aligns well with the concept of an ideal city for its inhabitants.
