Enhancing Global Engagement and Promoting Collaborative Partnerships|Xue Kan hosted the Consul General of Denmark in Shanghai and his accompanying delegation June 01,2023

On the morning of May 31st, Mr. Xue Kan, Secretary of the CPC District Committee, welcomed Mikael Hemniti Winther, the Consul General of Denmark in Shanghai, and his delegation. The two sides engaged in discussions and exchanged views on enhancing cooperation and exchanges, with a focus on advancing a high level of openness. Vice Deputy Mayor of the District Shi Fang attended.

Mr. Xue Kan extended a warm welcome to Mikael Hemniti Winther and his delegation. Leveraging the cluster of universities and abundance of science and technology innovation enterprises, Yangpu aims to bolster its role in fostering innovation, accelerating the conversion of research outcomes, and continually propelling new sources of energy. This strategy aims to cultivate fresh advantages and drive high-quality development in Yangpu. Denmark serves as the gateway to Northern Europe, offering valuable insights and experiences in urban renewal, ecological environmental protection, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. These practices and experiences are highly relevant and worthy of consideration by Yangpu. We look forward to further deepening cooperation and exchanges between the two sides, strengthening our complementary advantages, and achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes in broader and deeper realms of collaboration. Danish enterprises are warmly welcomed to invest and flourish in Yangpu. The district remains committed to fostering a first-class business environment characterized by marketization, the rule of law, and internationalization to support the development of both Chinese and foreign enterprises.

Mikael Hemniti Winther expressed gratitude to Yangpu for its warm hospitality and extended heartfelt congratulations on the district's remarkable achievements in transformation and development in recent years. He conveyed their impression of Yangpu's welcoming and conducive business environment, its livability, attractiveness for leisure, and tourism appeal. Mikael Hemniti Winther noted that both parties possess a solid foundation for collaboration, along with significant potential and ample opportunities for cooperation in sustainable healthcare, renewable energy, and initiatives aimed at energy efficiency and emissions reduction. Later, Mikael Hemniti Winther and his delegation visited Yangpu Riverside, where they explored the riverside public spaces and toured the Green Hill, experiencing firsthand the charm and vitality of Yangpu.

In recent years, Yangpu District has been steadfast in deepening its high level of openness to the outside world and has intensified international exchanges. It has effectively utilized platforms such as the Sino-Nordic Innovation Centre to serve as a bridge for promoting exchanges and cooperation with Denmark and other Nordic countries. These collaborations span various fields including scientific and technological innovation, sustainable development, and digital healthcare. With the backing of Yangpu District, the Sino-Nordic Innovation Centre has successfully introduced the University Startup World Cup to Yangpu and expanded its reach nationwide. It has organized significant events such as the China-Nordic "Internet+" Double Creation Ecological Construction Closed-door Meeting and University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum in Yangpu. Moreover, in Copenhagen, Denmark, it has coordinated several overseas mass entrepreneurship and innovation week activities, including those in Aarhus, Denmark. Additionally, the center has welcomed numerous industry study groups from Denmark and Sweden.
