On January 18, Guilherme Boulos, leader of the House of Representatives of the Brazilian Socialism and Liberal Party (PSOL), and his entourage visited Yangpu and conducted an investigation in Neighborhood 228, Changbai Xincun Subdistrict and the Changbai Xincun Community Integrated Service Center for the Elderly.

Boulos and his entourage first came to Neighborhood 228, Changbai Xincun Subdistrict, where they had an immersive tour to Shanghai's first workers' village exhibition hall, the Community Party Service Center and Panda Neighborhood Kitchen, to learn about Yangpu's active implementation of the concept of people's city, urban renewal, community party building and services for the people. The delegation repeatedly praised the human-oriented community governance.

Neighborhood 228, which was a workers' village built after the liberation of China to solve the difficulties of 20,000 households of workers' housing after the founding of the People's Republic of China, is a carrier of the struggles and memories of a generation of people. After undergoing many changes, the renovated Neighborhood 228 has been transformed into a model project of 15-minute happy community living circle for urban renewal, with a collection of public services and community businesses, such as the neighborhood kitchen, long term rental apartments, fresh food markets, recreation and fitness facilities, outdoor workers' stations, and a mini-theater.

After the visit of Neighborhood 228, the delegation went to Changbai Xincun Community Integrated Service Center for the Elderly, visited Changxin Nursing Home, and investigated the construction of facilities for the elderly.

The day coincided with the 8th day of the Lunar New Year, the Service Center for the Elderly was carrying out the Laba Festival themed activities, and the delegation was interested in learning traditional Chinese culture and folklore, and wrote the Chinese character "fu" (good fortune) with brushes under the guidance of the elderly, wishing for a safe and auspicious new year.

The delegation of the Brazilian Socialism and Liberal Party (PSOL) said that in Shanghai's communities, they learned about the excellent housing renovation projects, saw the restaurants and day-care services for the elderly, and deeply felt the local government's measures and effectiveness in improving the quality of life of the people, and it's worthwhile for them to to learn from those advanced experience and practices.

The reception was accompanied by relevant leaders of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC, the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Foreign Affairs Office of Yangpu District People's Government, and Changbai Xincun Subdistrict.
