The General Office of the CPC Central Committee recently issued a circular on carrying out publicity and educational activities themed “following the CPC forever” among the public, as part of the events to mark the 100-year anniversary of the founding of the CPC. The circular rolls out guidelines and makes arrangements for these to-be-held activities.

The circular stresses efforts to hold high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, follow the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Theory of Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and implement the guiding principles of the Party’s 19th National Congress and the second through fifth plenary sessions of the 19th Party Central Committee in full. With the theme of “following the CPC forever”, a series of publicity and educational activities will be launched in various forms among the public, during which we will sing out the main theme of the times across the whole of society, praising the CPC, socialism, reform and opening up, the great motherland, and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups. These activities aiming to motivating and mobilizing the entire Party, the military, and the people of all ethnic groups in China to rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. The public are urged to stay committed to Party’s original aspiration and founding mission, forge ahead and overcome difficulties, make contribution at their posts, and translate their enthusiasm for loving the Party, the nation and socialism into concrete action, in a bid to get off to a good start in the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and make continued efforts to secure a decisive victory in finishing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, strive for the great success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, and realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

According the circular, these activities will be carried out in two stages.

The first stage runs through the end of April. In this stage, the activities focus on studying and carrying out the guiding principles of the Fifth Plenary Session of the CPC 19th Central Committee, the “two sessions” and the National Poverty Alleviation Summary and Commendation Conference, showcasing the glorious achievements gained during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, and publicize the overall plan for China’s development in the coming 14th Five-Year Plan period.

The second development plan starts from May and runs through the end of this year, with the surge expected to arrive in June and July. Focusing on studying and implementing the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech delivered at a conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the announcement of the CPC Central Committee that the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects will have been achieved on schedule, a string of distinctive themed activities will be carried out among the public.

The circular introduces some specifically themed activities.

First, activities themed around “Party flags flying high at the primary level” will be held. Guide grassroots Party organizations from various social sectors focus on the overall work of the Party and government as well as the core tasks assigned to local areas, departments and units, forge ahead and make achievements.

Second, organize new Party members to take an admission of oath and veteran Party members to review their admission oath at revolutionary sites, revolutionary memorial sites and martyrs’ cemeteries.

Third, give Party lectures and broadcast excellent Party lectures. Organize secretaries of Party organizations at all levels, Party officials, outstanding Party members, and veteran Party members to give Party lectures. TV stations at all levels and other news media and other platforms focusing on Party members’ education set up special columns to show and broadcast a batch of high-quality Party lectures.

Fourth, conduct on-site learning activities. Focus on themes like CPC’s 100-year history, consolidating poverty-alleviation achievements, and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and launch a series of routes for taking “classes” on revolutionary history and red tourism, so as to guide officials and the people to conduct field investigations and surveys nearby.

Fifth, conduct themed publicity activities among the public. Those witnessing or experiencing important events, workers engaged in theoretical research, practitioners of Party’s theories, especially role models and paragons of virtue, will be invited to give lectures at grassroots level.

Six, conduct education activities among the younger generation. Produce and broadcast the TV program themed “first lesson of school”, organize universities, middle schools and primary schools nationwide to carry out themed activities to guide the young people to strengthen the study of political theories as well as the history of the CPC, the People’s Republic of China, reform and opening up, and socialist development, and consciously strive to be firm believers in, and loyal practitioners of, the common ideal of Chinese socialism.

Seven, conduct activities of other categories. Solicit themed works and exhibit excellent ones. Leverage integrated media such as mini films and short videos to publicize, and broadcast TV dramas themed revolutionary history. Consolidate and deepen new, celebration-related folk customs, enhance the public awareness about the importance of national defense, and deepen the activity themed “Our Festival”. Launch festivals aiming to build harmonious neighborhood will be held in urban and rural communities and create a positive social atmosphere.

The circular stresses that localities and various departments must adhere to the correct orientation, focus on tapping rich and profound ideas, and integrate the publicity and education activities with the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guiding principles of the 19th CPC National Congress, in order to create a sound social atmosphere of “Party’s Grand Event, People’s Festival”.

The circular urges efforts to take the local conditions into account, innovate means and approaches, use the words that the people can understand, build more platforms that the people would like to and can participate in, conduct distinctive activities of different kinds, and make the publicity and education more effective and appealing.

The circular demands efforts to make careful arrangement, enhance organization and leadership and achieve real results. Fully executed the CPC Central Committee’s eight-point decision on improving Party and government conduct and the detailed rules for its implementation, and oppose extravagance and waste. Foster an awareness of safety, make an all-out effort for novel coronavirus prevention and control, and ensure all activities could be conducted in a safe and orderly manner.

The circular also published the slogan for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
