Learn Party history to improve our characters. The century-old glorious history of the Party is a long and arduous course. In order to vigorously carry forward the Red tradition and inherit the Red genes, Yangpu District Taxation Bureau has recently launched the Red activities of "Recalling the Glorious Years and Inheriting the Red Genes" to recall the glorious course of the Party, relive the hardships, great changes and brilliant achievements of the Party in the past hundred years.

Lu Youqing, Party secretary and director of Yangpu District Taxation Bureau, organized the Party members of the Party Branch of the Second Taxation Office and the Party Branch of the Enterprise Income Tax Department to visit the Shanghai Liberation Memorial Hall at No.599, Baoyang Road.

Before the visit, the visitors solemnly presented baskets of flowers to the martyrs at Baoshan Martyrs Cemetery. Focusing on the route of "Clamping Wusong and Liberating Shanghai", the exhibition hall highlights the main historical sites of the PLA's great victory in the Shanghai Campaign. With oil paintings and sculptures depicting the heroic images of the PLA and re-presenting the fighting scenes of the Shanghai Campaign, everyone present was deeply inspired and educated through the strong audio-visual effect.

In the new historical era, Party members said, we must keep pace with the CPC Central Committee in thinking, always walk in the forefront in action and fear no hardships and setback, striving to make extraordinary achievements at ordinary posts."

Zhang Jingfang, member of the Party Committee and deputy director of Yangpu District Taxation Bureau, and Party members of the Party branch of the 13^th Taxation Office went to Maoma Warehouse, Yangpu Riverside to visit the theme art exhibition "Dawn - Red Shanghai in Celebration of the 100^th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" and relive the history of the Party in an immersive Party history education class.

The exhibition focuses on the work-study program for France, starting from the founding and the early struggle of the Party and displaying a group of important figures, Red landmarks and touching stories related to the birth of the Party in the form of art. Visitors were brought back to the heroic struggle of the people led by the Party from the following sections, namely, "Dawn in the East", "Glorious Years", "Backbone of the Nation", "A Loyal Heart" and "Change the World", reviewed the extraordinary achievements made since the liberation of Shanghai and relived the hardships, great changes and brilliant achievements of Shanghai in the past century.

"We should base ourselves on our own posts and do a good job in serving taxpayers, striving to turn the results of the study and education of Party history into a powerful driving force so as to greet the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Party with outstanding achievements," said the Party members.

Xu Ying, member of the Party Committee of Yangpu District Taxation Bureau and head of the Discipline Inspection Office, and Party members of the Party branch of the Discipline Inspection Office came to Yangpu Riverside Party-Masses Service Station to learn about Yangpu's century-old history and relive the changes in the past century. Under the guidance of Dai Wei, secretary of the Party branch of the Discipline Inspection Office, the Party members solemnly re-took the admission oath in front of the Party flag. Xu Ying organized the Party members to collectively study the Q&A on Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era. After the study, the Party members exchanged their learning experiences with each other, saying that as discipline inspectors, we must build an ideological defense line with integrity and self-discipline, spread positive energy, striving to be discipline inspectors with high political quality, loyalty, sense of responsibility, strong professional ability and fighting spirit."

On the day of Shanghai’s liberation, Bei Guomin, member of the Party Committee and chief economist of Yangpu District Taxation Bureau, and Party members of the Sixth Taxation Office and the Seventeenth Taxation Office visited Lu Xun's former residence and the Memorial to the Site of the Founding Meeting of the Chinese League of Left-wing Writers.

Lu Xun's former residence at No. 9, Lane 132, Shanyin Road is his last residence in Shanghai, where precious articles and writing tools used by Lu Xun during his lifetime are on display. Through the narrator's introduction, the members of the Party branch relived the place where Lu Xun once lived and worked, and realized the patriotic spirit of the great writer. The Memorial vividly records that in the 1930s, despite the cruel oppression of the Kuomintang, the left-wing revolutionary writers represented by Lu Xun fought tenaciously, crushed the cultural “encirclement” and suppression by the Kuomintang authorities, lending strong support to the military anti-encirclement and anti-suppression struggle in the Central Soviet Area. Visitors gained a deep understanding of the long and arduous struggle course of the Party leading the people on the literary front. The revolutionary writers used their articles and works to fully express their patriotic feelings and tenacious fighting spirit.

Xiong Zhenyu, member of the Party Committee and chief accountant of Yangpu District Taxation Bureau, and Party members of the Party branches of the Goods and Services Department, the Accounting and Analysis Department and the Fifth Taxation Office visited Huangpu District Library to receive education.

Listening to the introduction by the narrator of Shanghai Modern Municipal Theme Exhibition? Yangpu Pavilion to relevant historical materials, and carrying out Party Day activity on Party history in the Reading Area, Xiong Zhenyu organized all Party members to solemnly re-take the admission oath and sent birthday cards to those who were having their political birthdays. In accordance with the requirements of "learning Party history, understanding ideas, doing practical things, and creating new situations", some Party members recited Red poems after careful preparation, and some emotionally told short stories about Party history. Party branch secretary and the youth theoretical study group exchanged experiences after the study of Party history. In the end, Xiong told the people present about two articles written by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his work period in Ningde, Fujian Province and Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, sharing his personal experience with a special Party class.

"In accordance with the requirements of 'learning Party history, understanding ideas, doing practical things, and creating new situations', we should turn our enthusiasm in the study into the driving force for doing our job well," said the Party members.
