As the Qingming Festival drew close, the live studio "People's Show Belt", jointly produced by sh.people.com.cn and the Yangpu Culture and Tourism Administration, aired a special program called "Sail of Faith --- Commemorating the 102nd Anniversary of Work-Study Program in France". The program told stories about several aspiring young men, including Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping and Nie Rongzhen, who left the former Huangpu Wharf (now at No. 32 Qinhuangdao Road, Yangpu District) for France under a work-study program 102 years ago. They actively explored possible ways to save the motherland from perishing and make it strong.

Studying the revolutionary spirit and keeping the spiritual blood of the Communists flowing are priorities of Party history learning and education. As arranged by the Party group of the Yangpu Culture and Tourism Administration, organizations of the district's culture and tourism system organized their Party members to watch the program around the Qingming Festival, requiring the Party members to remember history, commemorate the martyrs, inherit the red genes, further carry forward the revolutionary spirit, and keep the high spirit of working hard.

Recently, the live studio "People's Show Belt" launched a special program called "Sail of Faith --- Commemorating the 102nd Anniversary of Work-Study Program in France". Members of the leadership and Party member representatives of the Yangpu Culture and Tourism Administration became the first watchers of the program.

In the program, guests from the Party History Research Office of CPC Shanghai City Committee, the Party History Research Office of CPC Yangpu District Committee, and the Shanghai Writers Association told stories about Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping, Nie Rongzhen and other young men who left the former Huangpu Wharf on their journey to seek truth 102 years ago. Wu Xinbo, chairman of the Shanghai Association of Quyi Artists, a famous Pinghua artist and national first-class actor, performed Sailing, a piece of Pinghua, and Ji Yibiao, vice chairman of the National Public Security Quyi Association and a national first-class actor, performed Departure, a talk show.

According to the members from the Party Branch of the Office of the Yangpu Culture and Tourism System running the live studio, they will launch a series of programs with the theme of "The Power of Faith", including Yangpu Red Culture Tour on Cloud, Interviews on Cloud, Exhibition on Cloud and Reading on Cloud in March. From April to July, the "People's Show Belt" live studio will also take the audience to cultural landmarks such as the Cruise Terminal of the Shanghai International Fashion Center, the Communist Manifesto Exhibition Hall, the Maoma Warehouse and the National Anthem Gallery to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Party and create a brand of red cultural programs.

"I put one ear on the top of the waves, listening to the sound of the waves of time, to the singing of gulls and blowing of the ship's horn. The sunrise on November 7, 1920 reappears in front of my eyes..." This excerpt comes from the poem "Red Sailing", included in the Know Where We Are Going --- A Collection of Poems Commemorating the 101st Anniversary of the Work-Study Program in France. It vividly presents a story about these Chinese young men crossing the ocean to pursue truth and save the motherland. In the program, a member of the Shanghai Writers Association also introduced a book called Years in Seeking, which is being written and tells stories about the first students studying in France under a work-study program with a lofty ideal of saving the motherland and the people and a spirit of forging ahead rain or shine.

Recently, the Party Branch of the Yangpu Library organized its Party members to watch the program. The Party members said emotionally that the poems, as an important carrier depicting the revolutionary spirit, truthfully describe the starting point of the Party and vividly reflect how these ambitious young men embarked on the revolutionary journey at that time.

The Communist Party of China in Yangpu series of books is an important collection telling stories about the Party in Yangpu and better inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of Yangpu's "three centenaries". The Yangpu Culture and Tourism Affairs Center (Yangpu Cultural Heritage Affairs Center) organized all its Party members to watch the program during the Qingming Festival.
