"Cool Ocean Breeze" -- Sea Shell Art Exhibition
Recently, at the center of cultural activities of Kongjiang Sub-district, the Sea Shell Art Exhibition themed "Cool Ocean Breeze" was held. The exhibition was hosted to help the public have a broad knowledge about marine science, marine economy, and marine environmental protection, and deliver to them a fantastic experience of the shellfish world by seeing the colorful and changeable seashells. 


Shells, as the cover of mollusks, are the lower ones of the animal kingdom, and the number of the species is quite large, making them the second largest category in the arthropod world after arthropods, with about 100,000 species. The vast majority of them have been living in the sea. With various forms, brightly colored and beautiful shapes, they are the masterpiece created by nature.


The types of shells on display cover almost all categories of marine shellfishes, which came from all over the world, of which many were rare specimens. Further, there were shellfishes closely linked with our daily life, such as seafood abalone, snail, snail, blood cockle, scallops, clams, oysters, squid, octopus, and pearl shell used for decoration.


The exhibition featured 52 varieties, with more than 60 shells which came with a large number of illustrations. The exhibition was widely approved by the public, and the sea lovers and citizens who came to visit the show were amazed at the wonders and fantastic beauty of nature.
