STI Shows Up in “City Expo”

Recently, “2017 Shanghai International City and Architecture Expo” (hereinafter as “City Expo”) themed “City Governance and Open Innovation” was held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center. As a national innovation drive demonstration zone, Yangpu District was invited to “City Expo” for the second time. Yangpu Science and Technology Innovation Group (STI) attended the expo on behalf of Yangpu.

“Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Yangpu” is the theme of STI. The reporter on the scene found that the exhibition area adopted the spatial design that “two sides were hollowed-out and the other two sides were unfolded”. In the middle of the exhibition area was a large “innovation tree”, providing enough space and a transparent visual effect. In the front, a time axis was used to review the innovation and transformation development road of Yangpu since 2003, highlighting important time nodes including “Yangpu University City”, “National Innovation Demonstration District”, “Important Carrier in the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center” and “National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Base”, and showing Yangpu’s determination and power in development. In the back, with universities, old workshops and brands of mass entrepreneurship and innovation as clues, the Great KIC Knowledge Community built upon advantages of universities and the Changyang Valley, a carrier of mass entrepreneurship and innovation brands, adapted from old workshops were introduced vividly with pictures. Meanwhile, a large screen plays advertising videos including Yangpu’s image film and films of Great KIC and Changyang Valley.

By report, the “City Expo” was sponsored by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Urban Planning Society of China, and the Architectural Society of China, co-organized by Shanghai World Cities Day Affair Coordination Center, and undertaken by Shanghai Green Building Council. The event lasted for three days with an area of nearly 50,000m2, including 1 expo and 15 professional forums, covering such aspects as design & planning, traffic, underground space development & utilization, environmental protection, sponge cities, landscaping, BIM technology and urban infrastructure. More than 300 exhibitors in total participated in the expo. It’s estimated 60,000 visitors attended the expo.
