Seeking Roots of Yangpu Binjiang

Yangpu Binjiang is one of the cradles of China's modern industrial civilization. To meet the 19th CPC National Congress, Shanghai Worker City Cultural Orientation Event, themed "Seeking the roots of industry", has recently kicked off at Oriental Fisherman's Wharf in Yangpu Binjiang. The offline session and the online session attracted 300 participants and more than 80,000 participants respectively. The participants enjoyed the fun of "reading the city as a book".

Aside from Shanghai Waterworks Museum, the sites involved in the offline session included Changyang Campus (former site of China Textile Machinery Plant), Shanghai Fashion Center (former site of Shanghai 17th Cotton Mill), Yangpu Binjiang Development Planning Hall (former site of Dachun Cotton Mill and Shanghai 9th Cotton Mill), China Tobacco Museum and Oriental Fisherman's Wharf. The sites involved in the online session included Yangshupu Power Plant, Yangshupu Plant of Shanghai Gas Corporation, the former site of Shanghai Paper Mill, the manager's residence of Yangshupu Cotton Mill, Yong'an Warehouse, etc.
