Yangpu Spare-time College Celebrate the 33th Teac...
September 10, 2017, marks the 33rd teachers' day in our country. At the beginning of the new school year, all schools actively organized various kinds of publicity and celebration activities to greet the festival. 


At the staff meeting on September 5, Bian Xianjun, special-class teacher of Shanghai, and the former principal of Kongjiang Ercun Primary School, delivered the teachers a special speech on "smart education and happiness sharing" in the main meeting room in Building 6. Mr. Bian, with a deep knowledge about the Chinese traditional culture, in his widely-quoted and enlightening speech, stressed the importance of smart education at home, and offered detailed analyses of the problems common to parents. Mr. Bian hoped that parents will learn to give praises when communicating with their child, so as to better help them foster a good habit, a sense of duty, an interest in learning and an ability of study. He also shared videos of his family life, instructing parents on how to create a good atmosphere at home, and arousing echo in the hearts of the young parents.  


In the morning, nearly 20 teachers participated in the Moon Cake DIY organized by the Labor Union and undertaken by the Admission and Training Center. Mr. Liu from the training center gave his instruction on how to make the traditional Suzhou-style pork moon-cake, based on his repeated testing for an improved formulation during the summer, thus making the baking classroom filled with the moon-cake fragrance. Meat-stuffed moon-cake is a traditional special snack in Zhejiang and Jiangsu. It is also a food for Mid-Autumn Festival. Mr. Liu, after instructing them to stuff the plain-looking pastry with fresh pork meat, showed his latest innovation by using black salted turnip as the stuff, with rich gravy slowing permeating inside. It was really a big feat. Mr. Liu also gave a detailed explanation about the methods of making Suzhou-style moon-cake, "After flattening the water-oil dough, wrap up the divided pastry dough, then roll the dough with pressure for several times before stuff it with meat." They carefully noted each step of the moon-cake making as showed by the teacher and tried to make it for themselves later on. After more than an hour's efforts, the well-baked fragrant moon-cakes were taken out. A bite of it made them amazed at its crisp crust and juicy stuff. They all felt wonderful at the sight of their hand-made moon cakes turning a color of invitingly yellow in the oven. Each mouthful of the cake seemed to fill them with happiness, and created a happy mood at the site. 


The school also worked to promote teacher's ethics. Teachers with this year marking the 30th year of their devotion to teaching were honored through big screens and bulletin board. City and district-level honors won by groups and individuals were reviewed. Collective birthday parties, Party member study and staff therapy recuperation organized by the school were also displayed. 


Events are being hosted to celebrate the festival. In addition, the school will launch more activities to promote teacher's ethics, give teachers a sense of professional honor, and inspire them to greater efforts to impart knowlege and educate studetns.
