The University of New South Wales Center in China...

On February 13, 2017, Prof. Ian Jacobs, the president of UNSW, and his party visits Yangpu. And has a close talk with Tan Bing, the Vice Mayor of Yangpu District, about the Center of UNSW in China intends to settle in Yangpu. 

President Ian Jacobs first expresses his gratitude to visit Yangpu and exchange. He is also amazed at the rare speed of transformation and the development successes in Yangpu recently. He says UNSW founded in 1949 has been committed to the transformation of scientific and technological innovation. The idea of turning what learn in school into society has become a kind of spirit in University of New South Wales, which is highly consistent with the current direction of development in Yangpu. He believes that the future of the world innovation center will be in China and the China Innovation Center will be in this region such as Yangpu so he wants China Center of UNSW will settle in Yangpu and advances work at the speed of China and Yangpu. Let the science and technology innovation become a link, to create a better platform for students and alumni, also to promote the exchanges between China and Australia.




Tan Bing, the Vice Mayor of Yangpu District, expresses hearty welcome to President Ian Jacobs and his party. He says that Yangpu District has experienced rapid changes in recent years, from Industrial Yangpu to Knowledge Yangpu to Innovation Yangpu, and is changing dramatically every moment. As the first batch of National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Bases and the important bear area of science and technology innovation with global influence, Yangpu is playing an increasingly important role in regional innovation and development. Tan Bing also says welcome and glad to see the China center of UNSW will settle in Yangpu. Yangpu District People’s Government will give strong support. He also hope UNSW will rely on the regional advantages of Yangpu and inject innovation power to the construction of mass entrepreneurship and innovation in Yangpu and the Shanghai science and innovation center strategy.




President Ian Jacobs also visited Yangpu District Planning Museum and Tus Star flagship base in Yangtze River delta with Vice Mayor Tan Bing and Han Wei, Co direct of Tus Holding Colleges and General Manager of Tus Star(Shanghai).
